Guys, how much does the PL vs. HL affect duty cycle on the 405nm?

I don't know in specific seconds but like pman said. The host has alot more mass to it. That also does not only expand duty cycle but also makes the laser more stable. my 2W 445 in PL host can be run for several minutes before it feels warm.

EDIT: I hope you get Lucky and get an overspec one! Last time i purchased some stock and in that stock was a 500mW model that hit 1W! (gismo is the Lucky owner now)

Got some good news and some bad news....
Need to drop out of spending the $ on the HL520 as I ran into a deal that I just could not pass up.
Bought the very special custom built 450nm from DJNY here http://laserpointerforums.com/f39/s-o-l-d-83103.html
It has modes and peaks over 3.5W and some talented members had a hand in it.
He also offered me his HL515 30mw to be sent in the same package and I can pay for the HL later as he knew I would have to give up the HL520 from the GB. If you look these over you will understand why I needed to jump on them.

Know EXACTLY what you mean KapHn8d. I won't tell yours if you won't tell mine:) That's a great choice by the way. I will not be surprised if it is over 1W of 532;). Seeing what you have purchased recently I'm sure you can understand my 450nm purchase from DJNY. Couldn't believe it wasn't already sold before I saw it.

It's possible I may jump back in on the GB as I'm owed a couple $100 from someone but not going to rely on getting it. Need it in my hand first.

However what is
"Remote connector switch"
And do we have to keep the red button pressed(momentary switch?)

A remote connector switch is a wire attached to a pin that you can cut and set up a system to turn your laser on/off remotely

I could be wrong, but I don't think all of the HL lasers come with them.



Also, right now I am talking to Kevin about purchasing a laser through him rather than the group buy so I can get it faster.
If that doesn't work out expect a purchase from me :D

You are correct about the plug. We only see it as a safety jack but when you cut the red wire and connect it to another cable or a switch that can turned on by remote you can use the laser on a distance.
