Dear Fellas!

I present my new work to the community, There are several hosts i have made, every design change to an upgrade and more detailed oriented host.
This time, A more practical yet 60% smaller than a C6 with roughly twice the duty cycle and a new addition of square cooling fins..

Its a Single Cell CR123A / 16340 Host..
The prototype build is 1.5W 445nm Laser X-Boost Build
The M140 gets quite hot after the normal 45-60s of usage in the Prototype.
So, What had to be done was..

- Used 16340 instead of 18350 , Results in thicker walls of the host so more heatsinking and got a great duty cycle too..
- Judco 10A switches were used in the MagicSticks previous models, This will come only with 3A Forward Clicky switch (not tested beyond 3A)
- No Set Screw (why?) The Heatsink is a complex design so the threads quality was more important. This design will need a vice / c-clamp to press the 12mm module, Just like a diode is pressed into the aixiz..
- Focus Adapter? Several Options will be available or you can always buy some fancy and anodized ones from MrCrouse, Or better get get the whole host anodized
- Lastly, Polishing these is a super difficult part since they squares can easily de-shape with extra abrasion so i dont think polishing would be free :p !

So enough with the Talks! Bringing out the guns :gun:

Wow! Great work sinner! You always impress me with your hosts. The square cooling fins looks like it was a PITA to make.

Props

Nice! I want one!
I'll be offering these as soon as the shipping problems are sorted out at my post office! I dont trust them anymore and would rather ship with help of a veteran member! and from the US! and FREE!

Yet another great looking and functionally excellent host from you--- is a "wow" for sure.

I admire your mechanical artworks!

The only thing I would mention from the pictures is that it would be nice if the scratches on the polished squares could be cleaned up--gotten rid of. Maybe first finish with 1500 then 2000 grit paper then polishing is finish touch only--a quick short job with little change of deforming the squares by abrasion---while polishing is a hallmakre of your hosts there is nothing wrong with that section being a brushed. matte finish. glass beaded, or anodized finish either. Whatever you decide to do/offer-- this new host will be another great one from you.

Thanks Encap! :thanks: You're being too kind my friend! Appreciate it

And yeah you're right the machine marks n stuff is not completely gone with just the wheel.. I was going to do that but i kind of used up all the finer grits sandpaper and had none at hand,
This is how i usually polish all my hosts.. I Clean them up, sand them to a finer grit upto #1500 , Powerbuff them to a smooth surface and polish them with a fine compound ..

If you can get some 2000 grit --try as a step in between 1500 grit and power buffing. Is hard to guess that it would make a big difference but it does--I know from experience. The piece will come out almost polished using 2000 grit, making final polishing a very much smaller task and preserving as much edge sharpness of the squares as possible.

You're right, It brings out the details very nicely and with perfect edges..
