Hi folks,

I'm sure there's already a lot of media covering output power of the krypton on the forum, so I hope it's not overkill to share a short video of mine. Here's a clip of measuring my krypton on a laserbee II LPM from a fresh start through warming up & peaking out. Also, please accept my apologies in advance for the autofocus on the camera, enjoy!

Thanks for sharing  This krypton is actually a good performer

I love the way you put that laserbee in that box! Nice :)

greetings,,

WL used to be very very good... then they ran into a lot of money from the arctics and tanked. It's not a bannable offense to compliment an accomplishment, even if it is WL. There'll always be haters anyway.

I'm not sure that as many people hate wicked lasers as you may think. This is partially why I felt inclined to share the result of an overspec laser from a supposedly infamous company with underspec lasers being one of their problems.

WL used to be very very good... then they ran into a lot of money from the arctics and tanked. It's not a bannable offense to compliment an accomplishment, even if it is WL. There'll always be haters anyway.

I think you have it backwards, WL was overwhelmed with demand back when the arctic launched & therefore pissed off a LOT of people with false information for inexcusable delivery claims. I don't know how much their damaged reputation has improved since then because I don't follow the hype, but as a company they seem to continue to grow & apparently are improving on their problem areas like customer service, product quality & delivery timeliness. I say this because I've recently read a post or 2 about a few people being happy with their recent WL experiences/purchases.

I've personally never been against WL nor unhappy with their lasers I own. As for the haters you mention though I agree 100%, though this forum is about free speech & everyone is entitled to express their opinions whether they're positive or negative

That's a good krypton you've got there! Do you shine the laser through the box? or is there a hole in it?

Thanks! Yes there's a hole in the box in front of the sensor, otherwise I'd be lucky to get a third of that reading from all the reflection

That's a nice krypton you got there... and a very interesting LPM.

Any functional purpose to the lights?

Facts are not hated here. Propaganda, and trolling, that's another story.

Can i ask what power output did you choose when you purchased
your Krypton? I know prices have since changed as they modified the method in which they distribute the higher binned 532nm CNI diodes. I'll go out on a limb and guess that Krypton costs just under a buck for 1mW, if you purchased it recently..

You seem to have me at a disadvantage....:undecided:
What higher binned 532nm CNI Diodes are you referring to...
I was under the impression that the WL Kryptons used a DPSS
Laser process to produce 532nm....

Thanks! There's no functional purpose with the EL wire other than decoration. The idea of pimping out my laserbee crossed my mind up a few weeks back when I thought of a few different housing cases I was going to try using for the LPM ;)

I didn't purchase this krypton or choose any power output, I was very fortunate to receive it as a gift & can safely assume with these readings it's the 750mW+ model

Jerry - Actually, i stand corrected, Thanks. With all the blue lasers acquired during my binge on 1W445 , Im dreaming 532, all kinds. Even a bit of 589nm.

Aye, what I meant is how WL is now, after the large amount of $$ they received from the arctics, they now just advertise everywhere and produce massive quantities garbage on average, just so happens this laser isn't in that category. If they never made the arctics, I have no doubt that they'd be a more reputable company here. Money does stupid things, though I still desire more money and more lasers. I'd still only pay $600 for a 1W green portable rather than $1000 with a pretty host.

Well if you want my opinion, I can firstoff tell you that I've been a little out of the loop for the past couple of months and this is why. I don't know if there's been drastic changes on this subject over the short period of 2 months but I am going to assume that is not the case. I also dont think I am the best person to ask, but since you did I'll give you my opinion on what I think and what I understand.

WL bit off more than they could chew with the arctic launch back then and it seems they have a lot of ground to recover to make good with their image and how they operate as a company, especifically on this forum. I believe they didn't anticipate the volume of orders they'd get following the publicity on advertising 'the worlds most powerful handheld laser' back when they did, and as a result of limited supply and heavy demand - a lot of people were justifiably upset with (1) the delays and excuses they had/made when orders were treated they way that they were unlike what most of us are used to with anything (there's an unwritten standard here) and (2) the lack of quality that comes with rushed production following the growing concern and attempt to repair the customer dissatisfaction that followed from my first point.

I think it takes times to repair a relationship like this under these circumstances, and with a major company like WL (globally advertising as you said) alongside a popular forum like LPF (also global) - there are dozens upon dozens of dedicated, educated, talented devoted and passionate members who loyally speak out upon everyone's behalf based upon what they think or what they've learned - regardless if it is good or bad. Whether that information is opinionated, informative or both - that is what the forum is here for. People look out for other people here and that's usually a good foundation for what makes a community. Positive and negative experiences are always welcome, no matter what your take is on it - in the end we all learn from it. So in this case you can read onto either side of the equation and follow what you wish to, it's your choice ;)

I personally dont follow all the hype or discussion on subjects like this because I simply don't care and it's not my perspective. I read what folks have to say & form my own opinions based upon my own experiences, I'm here for lasers - not what's popular or unpopular. If I were a gossip whore I'd much rather hang out at the hair salon than stir the pot on an internet forum with a bunch of folks like myself. Why? The women of course, hahaha

BTW - 1 post away from 1000!!! I never thought I'd see the day
