8 lasers shipped at once = Customs problem?

So I bought a total of 8 lasers :wtf: at once ranging from 30mW-400mW from Lazerer for a total of ~$750... is there any chance this would be more of a problem at customs than a 1 laser shipment? Like would they open it up and be suspicious? :thinking:Realized this after I bought all 8. I should have probably done them separately because it's free shipping.

Live in USA by the way.

Probably can't do anything by now but if anyone has some good news to ease my tensions that would be great :) :thanks:

wait 30 days, then inquire(huge usps budget cuts/ HLS taking over customs)... since you're in alaska i might say more... but honestly you might have an easier time than us big city folk (300+mw 532nm 22 days at LAX to West L.A.)

Honestly no one can really say.

If you just ordered them, and they have not shipped, email Max, tell him you are from LPF, and ask if he can ship separately. He's usually pretty good at helping us.

Man, you should never put all your eggs in the same basket. This is a no brainer.

I do applaud your enthusiasm though. Good luck.

I just got a package from lazerer saturday with four cheaper lasers... without any problems.

Personally though I limit my orders to smaller batches, just in case.

6 lasers, not 8. Actually have two coming in from O-like too that I got mixed up. But still I got hella batteries and accessories not listed with them.
LZSK - 532nm 400mW High Power Green Laser Pointer Separate Crystal
RIFLE 638nm - Full 300mW Bright Orangish Red Laser Pointer
LZMN - 650nm 100mW Focusable Red Laser Pointer
LZMN - 532nm 30mW Focusable Green Laser Pointer
mini B - 445nm 50mW Pocket Low Power Blue Laser Pointer
Devil RIFLE - 405nm 500mW Violet Burning Laser Pointer

I already have a Spartan 1W blue, and set of 5mW red/green/blue. I just got into lasers a couple weeks ago haha. Just into visible handhelds atm, but I think I still want a good focusable buring laser. 100mW red might be decent if it doesn't leak too much IR? Don't worry, I have glasses and I know the safety. I am a bit confused about if I can burn up close with a laser that emites IR because most of what I ordered does not have IR filters. I have glasses for 190-548nm and then for red, whatever the wavelength is.

If I had $700 to spend, I would build a 4W 445nm (with probably some advice from wannaburn)

Rule of thumb. You want to buy 8 lasers. 8 lasers in 8 boxes getting through is a much better chance of getting all 8 lasers through. You send all of them in one box and it gets confiscated, your screwed on all 8

Like TJ said, don't put em all in the same place.

But I sure do hope you get them!

China to US tracking is spotty at best, but I have always received my package in the end.
I would give it time to ship before making a thread about it, not like anyone here or even yourself can do anything when it has already shipped.

Maybe the custom's people are watching this forum to learn when to intercept our lasers ! :tinfoil:

You still have a lot of reading to do my friend. 100mW red isn't a LOT of red and it doesn't leak ir.

Keep reading and wear those glasses!

^^^ a LOT of reading.
those batteries may be your downfall.. free batteries or batteries included are no bargain if they get your lasers seized. All in one basket=TJ is right = riskier.
Also some companies are of trusted shipper list and others are on no list but you want to avoid those on the not trusted list.

Last dos centavos- I always insist on DHL express when shipping from China- its not cheap and it is very quick (once got a box in 68 hours) BUT I use DHL cause their boxes almost NEVER get opened. SO its alot more than just the quick delivery. DHL pre-inspects and puts their 'dhl inspected' yellow tape on inner box and in a dozen in 3 years none ever re-inspected. I only use USPS/EMS for lasers/diodes/lenses etc going to China.

You better get some glasses the block both 532nm green and 808nm IR for that LZSK 400mw 532nm.

Survial Lasers has a good pair---the Eagle Pair® brand protective laser safety goggles for combined 190-540nm & 800-2000nm wavelengths

See at: Laser Safety
