This little guy hits over 1.2W in high mode with the
supplied 3.6v 10440 battery. It features memory, so whatever mode you last used
it will start in when powered up again.

3 types of batteries can be used with this one. 1- standard alkaline 1.5V in low mode
which will give approx 50mW, 2- a 1.2 NiCad which also in low mode will give approx 50mW.
3- 3.6v Li-iion in low mode 100mW, or in high 1.2W.

The heatsink is made from a 24k gold plated copper direct press. Its a lot of power
for such a small laser, and one of my favorite hosts to date. The outer body is stainless
steel, and the focus ring is 24k gold plated brass.

Sale includes a 2year warranty, goggles and 2 batteries. Unfortunately does not come with
a charger for the protected cells. One can be picked up for 10-15$.

FEATURES:

-3 mode with memory
-Gold plated copper heatsink, and gold plated focus ring
-Selectable output 50mW up to 1,200mW

INCLUDES:

-Laser
-Goggles
-2x Protected 10440 Li-ion batteries
-2 year warranty

Re: For sale / 3-mode 1.2w s/s micro

I'm doing the math in my head. Some guesswork here, but:

- 1.2W, 3E lens, so perhaps 1.2A of diode current.
- Single cell, so it's a boost, and at (4.75/3.7) x 1.2A you'd need 1.54 of pre boost current.
- Divide by an average boost efficiency of say 85%, and that's 1.8A from the cell.
- 10440s are usually around 350mAh real capacity, so 1.8/0.35 = greater than 5C rate

So I'm stumped. How are you getting 5C current from a 10440 cell?

^ You would be assuming plenty... The 10440's are protected and have their limits.
Without giving away any secret recipes... they handle it just fine

There is an extensive review of one of the first that I made in this host.
I have made some improvements on the design since, but the basics are
still the same.

Beautiful work here, also looks like a gold plated accent ring there in the middle? Good luck with the sale mate!

Appreciate it

That ring in the center is a stock piece, not sure if that is gold plate or just a 'goldish' plate. It acts as a
spacer to extend the battery compartment a few millimeters.

Nice cute little POWERFUl Laser...
That should sell as quick as your other unique builds..:gj:

I like the idea of Gold plating to help increase thermal
conduction...

I picked up a plating kit a while back, all I can say is when used in the right
places, along with some other ideas I came up with, the results are pleasing :D

Is there any kind of protection from the driver... once the battery drops to 3v?

Not really a problem for larger batteries IMO, but with 10440...

No, the driver in these work down to .7v which is why you can use a single
1.5v alkaline for ultra low mode of ~50mW..

The batteries included are protected cells that cut out at 2.75V IIRC. If one were
to use an unprotected Li-ion, you have to be mindful of the charge state.

Though an unprotected cell will provide a bit more current and in turn more mW
as noted in the review by member 'Plexus' in the link above.

I believe he was using the AW brand unprotected 10440's.

Re: For sale / 3-mode 1.2w s/s micro

I bought a similar 10440 laser from wannaburn almost a year ago now. It was my first 445nm laser, and without a doubt my favorite laser.

I carry it with me everywhere, and it's had a lot of wear and tear. It still performs like the day I got it, despite haven taken a trip in the washing machine... I've had lots of other lasers breakdown or need repair, but not this one. The build quality of wannaburn is top notch.

The lucky person who buys this laser will be impressed; I know I sure was :)

LOL! Washing machine? thats a first for one of mine.. I would not expect a working
laser after that... If it ever starts acting up, pay the shipping and I will recondition it
for you free of charge.

These ones are so small, they make a perfect EDC.

Thanks for the kind words and feedback on this model laser.. Much appreciated

Re: For sale / 3-mode 1.2w s/s micro

It didn't spend long in the washing machine, it took few a few minutes after sitting down before I realized it was missing, and another few minutes to realize where it was

I wasn't expecting it to work either, it came out a little damp, but I dried it off and stuck it in some silica gel overnight and in the morning it was as good as new

Re: For sale / 3-mode 1.2w s/s micro

The modules in these are pretty sealed up, but I would not imply waterproof
by any means... The driver is fairly protected, and in your case, sounds as if
no water made it in far enough to cause corrosion or the like.

I also take apart the switches and pack them around moving parts with
silicone grease, which should help keep moisture from entering the internals
of the switch area.

Still good to hear you have had no problems.. This is why I offer such an extended warranty.
I would not offer it if I had my doubts.. Having to send a laser back is never a fun experience.
