What is the most powerful handheld 532nm?

Re: What is the most powerful handheld 532nm?

the one they haven't made yet..:)

Personally I think anything over 500mW of green is overkill. It doesnt justify the price.

Is it the hercules? I am after a 532 with an excess of 700mw IR filtered.

No. I mean, maybe an over-spec Hercules. But at an upper stated range of 800mW, that's not the most powerful handheld 532nm.

I mean - we've seen an LPMing of a "1W" Krypton that supposedly hit 900 or more (if you believe the poster). I'm pretty sure I've heard of some JetLasers that have peaked above 1.2W in portable form factor. For that matter, there is a "1.3W" 532nm that DinoDirect used to, and now LasersMan (or one of the clones, forget who exactly) sell for some obnoxious amount like $2200 or $2500, and it supposedly actually peaks at a (presumably ridiculously unstable) 1.5W or 1.6W.

I'm also fairly certain that if you bought an 800mW CNI module, it would peak up into the 1W+ range, since CNI stuff is very frequently over-spec. Though of course the same logic then applies to LaserGlow.

the one I will have in a few weeks if all goes well...:)

What do you have on order?

Nope. Nobody "DIY's" 532's above 200-350mW because they are DPSS lasers.

People keep saying that, but it's not true!

With Jayrob's help, this was possible:

Granted, I didn't build the DPSS module. But I'm not sure how many of the 445 builders out there are assembling their own diodes from an emitter, housing, bond wires, etc ;)

We harvest diodes all the time, I just harvested a DPSS module, it counts!

(come on... it counts....?)

.....yes.

with the coming of the PL-E series from jetlasers they are expected to hit 600, 700 and 800mw.

...A bit late to the show here...

Keep in mind the duty cycle on those aren't quite what the hercules is. And don't you mean the upcoming PL-D Pro series? it says 100-700mW expected output.

I second that, and can confirm it ^^
30Min+ runtime without sweating, try that with any other 532nm handheld :yh:

From my own review:

''The Hercules series lasers is the most stable handheld 532nm laser there is (as far as i know) on the market still to date.
I see you wonder, why's that.
Well, that's becouse this laser has a build in active fan to keep it cooled down so it has a 100% duty cycle.
It has the features of a tabletop module, with the (somewhat ^^) portability of a handheld.
There's no need to switch it off after 5 min of use couse of the build in fan.''

Cheers, sm
