Thanks for the post Chuck, I'm glad your going to help us out. The way you answered the email though, it sounded like you were going to ship them right out. I asked "can you please help me get them replaced?" you replied "Glad to. Address?" that sounded plain & simple to me, no mention of not having stock on-hand to send them out.

You replied quickly to me & I replied back to you the same day. As for spam filters, I checked back through the last 60 days and nothing from your company or subject matter has been flagged in that folder, I manually delete that folders contents every 90 days, I don't allow it to happen automatically, especially when you are waiting on a reply for something you just never know if it gets flagged, so I always make a point to check my spam folder.

In the beginning I was emailing the regular address and to date no replies at all. However like I said though, your reply was very fast, and the way it was answered I thought the replacements were in-route. Looks like I was mistaken on that part.

Still though I'm happy you are communicating with us on this issue, and working on getting it resolved. It's good that the CEO gets involved to make things right for his customers.

I'm very sorry your having issues with the factory and I hope things get worked out soon.

Thank you for coming on here and explaining some of this to us.

Best regards

Update:

By the time I finished typing this I just seen Chuck posted "Good news, 200 lenses just arrived. Working on shipping now"
Now that really is good news........Thanks for personally looking into this Chuck, that speaks volumes.

It would probably be in all of our best interest to not contact aixiz about this for about a week (since I'm betting most of us have at least once already).. and let this batch of lenses get spread around...
then whoever still has issues can start questioning again. With shipping times and all the other various unknowns, I think a couple of weeks before resolution should be expected...

Great news Chuck!

Thanks for getting what we wanted and getting them special mounted in a full length threaded metal nut per our request! :)

Despite all of the confusion that happened from all sides at once, it sounds like you have it all worked out, and ready for more orders!

I'm sure I'll be ordering more soon...

For those who have orders with me, I will ship the AixiZ 445 bare lenses (or the ones who ordered just the lens with AixiZ focus ring) as soon as I get them...

If you have other items that need machined parts with your lens order, I am filling those orders 'per date ordered'.

:thanks:

^ Yep, those are some much needed lenses from Chuck. I'm still using the mighty Jayrob 405-G-1 and really enjoying the 445nm LD with that one, but it's great to have back up for all of the other builds that are likely to happen.

WTF
just got my replacement lens, and the coating is exactly the same. BUT, the lens is clearly different.. or, the housing.. it has two small dots on the retainer ring, vs the two notches on the "red" lens.
but, the coating is the same?!?!?

-ill try to get a pic

Ok, so does this look wrong to everyone else? I dont have a meter, so want a little more advice before I complain.
the new one is the one w/ the lighter anodizing.. the metal is less black, and it has the dots, rather than notches on the retainer ring.

Urg, I just examined Jrobs photo again, and that is not the lens I have. Mine clearly reflects blue and violet.. when looking through the lens it has a yellow tint.. meaning, its passing yellow, reflecting blue.
It is a different coating that the other wrong lens I have (that Im calling the red lens) but both reflect cool colors and pass warm.

I got the same thing ... diff housing but the same blue reflection from the coatings. :yabbem:

From chuck:
"The red lenses have light blue coat. The blue lenses have a combo light purple and light gold"

I also received a lens similar to the one wicked1 was describing. However, when I compared it with my LPM, I measured 442mW with my plastic lens and 376mW with the replacement lens (the one supposed to be coated for 445).

However, this does not mean that everyone else who also received a replacement lens got the wrong one. It's likely that it was only me, or at least a very few number of people, that received the wrong replacement lens.

I'm still waiting to hear back from chuck to confirm if my replacement lens is the wrong one, however I don't know what else would explain the measurements from my LPM.

hurm.. well, thanks Jay for the 405-g-1, cause I'd be way beyond my impatience tolerance level at this point w/out it :D

-edit, there is not a hint of gold in this ar coating.. you might see a bit of white in one of the lenses in one of my photos, but that's simply the overpowering white cloudy sky overhead. The ar reflections are completely blue...

I wanted to chime in and see if anybody has noticed a difference in beam quality. Comparing the original aixiz 405nm and the new aixiz 445nm lenses. At least to those members who got the correct yellow tinted 445nm lenses.

I got one of the newer 445nm from jay about a week ago and comparing it to my older 405nm half thread. It has a huge set of wings on the far outside. At firs I thought it might have been due to the position of the diode. However it produces the exact same unwanted pattern in both lasers. Maybe one of the inner elements are misaligned?
