Sure wish I could justify spending 650$ on a laser. I envy the people getting a 589 though! Hopefully there will be more CNI GB's in the future I can partake in.

Still interested in the 500mW 532nm, I may also be interested in a 473nm depending on the cost

I still want the same stuff as before.

FYI for hose wanting to participate, the Chinese New Year is starting. I ordered some scanners from anther place yesterday. I was told if I waited a couple days longer they wouldn't be shipped until February 8th. That being said, we should have at least a couple weeks to gather interest/orders.

Indeed. I was in touch with CNI recently on a few labby prices, and they mentioned that to me as well. Jan 28th thru Feb. 8th I think.

Now with the holiday season over we may have a shot to get enough orders. The target is 10x of the 589nm units, and anything else is extra.

So who is still interested? If there is enough interest I'll start re-taking orders and get the ball rolling.

Any idea on the cost of these in a x10 GB? Do you have a link to any info for these?

Answered my own question
http://www.cnilaser.com/PDF/PGL-III-C-589.pdf

I should have framed the other question as "do we expect the price on another GB of x10 589 80mw units to be $650 again?"

I'd consider getting in on one for either this 589 or possibly a 532 500mw.

Does the $650 include shipping? If not, what are we looking at in shipping to the USA per unit?

Thanks,
JM

Just got off the horn with cni, looks like 473nm 100mW within 10% stability lab modules are sitting at 550 bucks complete or 450 bucks for ten complete pieces. Lower than my last quote... Thoughts? Might be a sweet alternative to a yellow and a bit cheaper in light of Xmas bills.

I'm still interested in the 589nm 80mW! :yh:
And perhaps also into the 473 if price is good...

I'm still interested but just like last time I'm not going to risk losing that much money if American customs seize the lasers... it's been a few months, maybe CNI changed their minds and would be willing to guarantee delivery?

Also taking this stance... it's undoubtedly concerning to be potentially throwing hundreds of dollars down the drain :yabbmad:

Why are so many people so opposed to buying just the modules? That's the way to go really.... Can do anything you want to it look-wise, any battery, etc. i mean really. And OEM stuff doesn't generally have issues with import. I'm considering a yellow myself, but not likely as a PGL

Id go for the OEM modules , Id go for a 500mW 671nm with the 5V driver :D

Because not everyone is comfortable building a laser with a $600 module... Because not everyone has a lathe or machining tools...

Also because the module isn't cheaper enough to be worth the trouble unless you really want a different host... (don't quote me on this one but I think I've read the module price somewhere and it was almost the same price as the full laser)
