How many mW can you get from an hd dvd diode laser? and also, can the beam be seen clearly at night time? like as clear as a green laser?

thanks

The beam from any 405nm (HD-DVD / Blu-ray) violet laser will seem much dimmer then the same mW from a green. Our eyes are Much more sensitive to green then violet & 405nm is really at the edge of violet/ultraviolet.
You need smoke or fog (natural or by fog machine) to really see 405nm beams well.

It is a PHR-803t diode (80-110mW). You should be able to find some info on them pretty easily.

It might also be a DT-0811 sled/diode (50-100mW).

Look at the sled. There will be a sticker with one of those numbers on it

cod4pwns08;

It will depend on the exact PHR diode you get (the best one to use).

I have been building a few Triple-PHR lights, and I notice color differences between the diodes in each build.

Some of them appear blue while others are definitely more purple.

Power output is typically ~100mw when driving @ 110ma or so.

They are not as visible as the green lasers, because of eye sensitivity.

I have some of the blue-cast PHR's if you need some.
