WTB: C-6 Pill

Hi all. I just got my Aurora C-6 kit in from SurvivalLaser, and boy, it's a nice deal with a hefty heatsink.

What I didn't notice in ordering it is that, unlike the cheaper DIY kit, my particular kit did not come with the pill included.

Just order another one, right?? Yeah, not so much. The folks @ SLUSA are all on the road for the next two weeks! I can't wait 2 weeks plus shipping for a simple pill!

So, I come to you, the forum...

Does anyone have a spare C-6 Pill that they can sell to me? I may freak out if I keep having to wait for a pill!

I too was very surprised when my Survival Lasers S4 host didn't come with the pill. Luckily the C6 and the S4 share the same pill so I'll just get one from them when im ready to build a laser out of it.

Yeah, I'm w/ ya Bill, but they are out on the road for 2 weeks! That's like a million years for a waiting laser nut!

It was my fault for not paying better attention. But, at the same time, come on...throw in the stock pill when paying for the nice kit.
 
That's because only there unmarked hosts come with a pill and there marked host are suppose to be used with there pill/driver combo.
 
I get that, I do. But, from a consumer perspective, we are paying the extra money for the lovely heatsinks with the hosts. But, just maybe one of us wants to drop a standard module in. We shouldn't have to pay extra for a pill that came with the original flashlight in the first place.

I certainly understand Gary's perspective on these. I am simply offering this consumer's perspective.

That being said, I will continue to do business with Survival Laser.
 
Well the reason he does that is because usually people buy that host + driver/pill + lens and focused adapter then all they need is the diode and module. That's why I never buy his marked host only his unmarked one. I hope someone has on laying around I did till I used it with my 532nm build.
 
I have a drilled C6 pill ready to go, PM me if interested :beer:

I can understand that. But on the same boat, If I buy a marked S4 host for the same price as the unmarked, I'm giving him free advertising so I would think the pill would be in there. I'm not too worried it's like $5 extra.. meh!
 
Yeah, the cost is of little importance to me. I just wish I had noticed before I ordered so that there wouldn't be this terrible wait.
 
Why don't you just buy an empty C6 host ? Take the pill out and use the remainder parts for a green laser. The green module don't need the pill. A win-win situation.

Blord, the idea behind the thread was that I didn't want to wait another couple of weeks if I didn't have to, and I am always happy to throw my money at the forum members rather than China.com.

I've decided to go ahead and just wait. I'll use this host for the module it was designed for, and my 650nm will just be homeless, again, until Gary and the good folks at SL USA are back in town. They usually are a great way to get a well priced and built host kit.

Ask Mohrenberg. He sells JAD C6 kit. I am sure he has empty hosts too.
And he is US based so the shipping time shouldn"t be long.

Thanks Blord. Matt is already on my go to list, and is out of stock. I did try hitting up members personally before posting this thread.
 
You might try dropping Clif at cajunlasers a note and see if he has any. They aren't on the list of store items, but it's worth a shot. He is US based so anything you order from him will get too you quick.
