WTB a laser from 150mW to 250mW

Yes.. listen to phoenix... even the reflection of the laser off of things can mess with your eyes, especially with the high powers you're dealing with.

Thanks for the detailed assist Jon, and your help too CornOTC. Any other help, opinions, etc. will be greatly appreciated...............rob

Wow this thread got huge fast ... Thanks for the ass-chewin, Rob :) geez, I'm gone for FIVE MINUTES...

Pac - Rob and everyone are entirely correct regarding eye protection, even just aiming the laser at something to burn it and focusing the beam can and WILL cause eye discomfort and/or damage with 200mW power. As to sources, Rob is a straight-up guy, and the WL glasses are about the only product that WL makes that's worth anything, they're actually really nice.

Be careful ordering online from unknown sellers (such as Ebay) though, as often they market poorly designed goggles at lower costs, but to be real, is the difference between $30 and $40 really worth risking blindness?

I get so confused when it comes to eye protection. I mean, it took me quite a while before I got protection goggles. Now I try not to burn things without wearing protection, but really I still do every now and then. My question basically is, I know most of you have and I guess wear your protection goggles, but do all of you really wear it all the time when you use your lasers? I mean... I know nobody probably wears theirs outside, but even if you're inside, does anybody figure (like me), ohh I'm not going to hit my eye even though there are mirrors in every room of my house...?

Seriously, YES it should be done. We've all screwed off at times (and no matter how much preaching you hear, until you screw yourself up you're human and will probably continue to have fun without thinking about the repercussions) but seriously, is permanent damage really worth it?

Reflected laser light can come in damaging quantities from something as mundane as the surface of a balloon - think about it.

(Am I forgiven yet, Rob? :) )

LOL, HEY Dale, It wasn't supposed to be an ass-chewin', sorry you took it that way. I was just tryin' to get you to jump back in to back me up with what I was saying. I was gettin' DESPERATE there for awhile. I was alone it seemed & I didn't want anyone to think I was just trying to sell eye protection to make a buck. But, all is forgiven. You can come home now. LOL LOL......................rob

i dont own a pair... wish i did, but my eyes are fine, i simply am SMART about burning with my lasers. comon sense is hard to come buy though lol. its definately WORTH 30-40 to save your eyes if you think you may slip up though.
