WTB 638nm 5mW pointer.

it has a high threshold like 473
not if you get the 5mw 570+ diode
Many people say it looks like a beautiful dark red
nope there are no tints or shades of laser colors. there is no such thing as deeper/ darker lasers because the color is not being mixed with black. 680 will be the most monochromatic red you can get, and it is also one of the dimmest visible red falling just behind the ruby laser at 694.3nm. To an eye well trained in slight differences between colors, like say an artist you may be able to pick up just the slightest tint of orange in a 650/60 laser but not a 680.

I put my 680 and my 633 (HeNe) close on the wall and it was amazing how not red 633 looked.

I actually see a slight difference between 635nm and 650nm, of course it's miniscule but it's big enough of a difference for me to notice :)

@hwang21 I wish I could afford such wavelengths right now, but I can't. LG said they had one last 654nm pointer left and I am planning on purchasing it soon!

Dragonlasers has a 5mw 589 pen laser for 189 :shhh:
