Today while working in the ER, we had a woman come in who had gotten "attacked" with a laser.
She had been having disputes with her neighbor, and while pulling out of her driveway was flashed with a "blue" light by her neighbor.
Her retina appeared undamaged and the "blindness" which she reported was gone about 45 minutes after the incident.
However, the numbing drops that we put in her eyes didn't seem to help which suggests the pain was coming from "inside" they eye (as would be expected with a laser injury)
The police officers returned with a crappy ~20 lumen LED light as the "weapon"
However, I highly suspect the piece of shit perpetrator simply stashed his laser and gave the officer this flashlight instead.
