They should give the exact output. The 2x18650 has a longer runtime than 2x16340 providing the specs are right.

Unless your 16340 batteries cannot handle the current draw of the driver then the power of the laser will be the same.

I am pretty sure I answered this question for you yesterday.:p

Using a constant current driver the output should stay "constant". So unless your voltage is too low and the driver falls out of regulation, the batteries can't discharge enough current to run the driver or your voltage is too high and you damage your driver it should always give the same current to the diode.:beer:

Since a quality #18650 cell will have lower Internal Resistance . . .

the larger cell will deliver more voltage to the driver.

Driver design will determine the actual power output.

I would bet on the 18650 cells.
