Hi All

After some pleasent reading of this forum and other reviews i sat and wondered if i should purchase a high powered laser for the pure factor of having one, As i am nuts on gadgets it was somethink i didnt have, So i trawled the web and read all these horrible reviews about Wicked Laser and poor delivery and service,

Now i don't work for them never have i work here in the UK and sleep in the UTC time zone lol... Anyway i made the choice and contacted Wicked Laser and asked the questions you know "Delivery times, Customs refusual, Payment no goods, and quality" the quality was only ever going to be what i thought anyway,

So after talking to them and having a good time scale in replies i decided to order one, Now i ordered one last Thursday at 12 lunch time.

Now i am totally inpressed with this i was told by them 3-4 weeks for delivery and i even got free shipping.

Now i got home and un wrapped the Artic and i am blown away it is very very well built, The battery had some charge so i had a little play tonight and it is perfect in what i was expecting,

Now i am no Laser freak and it proberbly is only pushing 500mw i dont know but as i am Starwars freak this bad boy has made me smile, And out of the box it was destroying Tape,Burning wood,Plastic the lot so i am very happy so far,

Repliablity we will have to see but thumbs up after the reviews i seen about deliverys etc everywhere i thought maybe they need alittle praise for this one.

Sorry didnt think lol,

As it says i am Craig from the UK and a complete gadget nut. Wife hates my hobbie as it isnt cheap but i dont smoke and only drink rarley so why not. I have owned one or two lasers years ago infact i think i bought one of the first green ones back to the uk when i visited Hong Kong and China years ago. I had a couple cheap red ones for the cats etc but nothing mental like this i have just bought.

I know there is people here who hate WL with a passion but i have to say my dealings so far have been good infact great, and yes i could have got a laser proberbly cheaper and more powerful but i took the chance and so far it has paid off.

Future problems may accur and i will have to deal with them at that point but hopfully they wont.

Just maybe and i mean maybe WL have sorted there company out.

We have been messing with it today at work and against a chaps 500mw aparently one he has it walks the floor with it, It is in my eyes worth the gamble.... And no customs or extra charges just straight to my door in 3 days from 12000 miles away :gj:

Anyone can banter away about how crap WL are and How under powered they are but i have recieved good service and a great product that seems to be well in the 1W range from a comparison to the 500mw that it has been against today..

Has the other "500mW" 445nm laser been tested? If not... you're guessing about it being on spec. Even having seen dozen's of lasers I wouldn't hazard to ballpark output with any degree of accuracy.

As long as you're happy with it, that's all that matters. Enjoy.

When you're ready for a real 1W+ laser take a look in the b/s/t section.
 
Cheers chap i will but yes i am happy with it for now lol.... The 500mw hasnt been tested no but the WL does make it look very tame lol....

Good for you man, congratulations on getting a powerful laser like that in such short time. Shipping from China usually takes weeks to the US, somtimes longer. I figure the same would be for the UK, naybe less. The wait can be grueling too, for me it is anyways :) It took 4 months before I received my S3 back when I placed my order, but this was shortly after it had come out & became so popular. I'm jealous yours arrived that fast, even to the UK. :beer:

Please heed laserbee's advice, this laser is no joke when it comes to safety. Saftey googles are a MUST - especially when using it indoors and/or for burning! If you're not using googles with this laser & thinking it's not affecting you because your eyes dont hurt or you're squinting to dim the brightness you are wrong. You wont notice the damage you're doing right away, but after awhile lights at night - especially headlights will start appearing brighter to you & during the daytime the sun will seem brighter than all holy hell. BE CAREFUL and be responsible, and have fun with your new laser. :beer:

Cheers for the advice i am 38 years of age and think safety dont worry even when i was not the one using it i kept my eyes away from the beam or dot don't worry. And when i was in full cutting mode :) i was goggle wearing...

The god of lasers need respect :bowdown:

Good question!
I know they say they are certifying them now, and sending a power graph with.
I would like to see how their "Graph stacks up against one of our members LPM!!!

I am not going to lie WL did me right! I got my Arctic in 3 months but that was back in Feb 2011 and they were still selling lasers they had not built yet...

I have had 4 cores, an E3, and My Arctic shipped from them without incident (The Arctic being the longest shipping time by 2.5 months!)

Still after hanging out at their now defunct forum, and the Facebook page for over a year the things I have seen, and had done to me by them I can't recommend WL to anyone they are just too darn overpriced, underspec, and straight up EXPLETIVE DELETED about them being the only laser company in the world, and forbid that you talk about any laser DIY or other companys near them. (I think the later is why they closed their forum)

When I joined this forum, it was 20 or 30 reasons NOT to Buy From Wicked Lasers. Now it's 39 reasons.

Reading the first 10 was more than enough for me NOT to buy from WL ever.

In fact, I think that if sometimes in the future I'll consider buying from them, it is only after I see they get ONLY positive feedbacks here for a period of TWO years (at least).

Even then I will only consider buying from them, not necessarily buying actually.
