I was being facetious you crazy guy ;) ;D

Yeah, I got that part. You've got a sealed 20W, but what's the other CO[sub]2[/sub]?

Thanks for making me feel younger than I feel. I was born in '85 but feel like I'm about 70  :D

As a side note, my elementary school had a big poster of that picture, so I knew who laserman was when I was like 8 years old :o

And it will be my honor to meet you at WeCoLEM![/quote]

LOL...I tried to give you a +1 for being a suck-up (just kidding of course) Bad word...what I meant was patronizing me...but it wouldn't let me ;D What you talkin bout willis...it will be my honor to meet you! But if you bring a copy of Nat Geo, Ill sign it for you...then you could use it to prop up the corner of a wobbley desk or use it to raise the height of your lasers by .375" ;D Back to gassy lasers!

If you bring your SP's to WeCoLEM, I'll see if I can squeak any more power out of them if you want...I heard you can peak and tweak them yourself...but the offer still stands!

this LEM might be the first time I fire up my 168 while it's in my possession if I keep being lazy....

I have a biiiiiig rotary phase converter and I patched up the broken nipple (hehe...) inside my 265 but I just haven't had the energy to go out and throw it all together. I did have it running for about 10 seconds but the water wasn't flowing well so I shut it down. Other than that the only time I ran it was at the guy's house that I bought it from.

Hey Pat, will the alarm in the PSU go off if you try to crank the field to MAX while the current is only at idle levels?

hhhhhmmmmm, its all about the tube volts my friend. (and alarm calibration) All bets are off on accurate diagnosis of operational parameters when it comes to tube volts and alarm calibration until you can get your tube to run at 30 amps field max (with a standard magnet) (if you have a HF magnet you will want field minimum).

Do you have any idea what a 7.5 hp roto phaser will deliver current wise before melting down?

Whoever this mysterious 'laser god' is.... I bet he drove one of these....

drove it for about 6 months until it needed an oil change and I had to get my own insurance for it. Oh well...fun while it lasted!

you have to scavange someone to get one running. STAY AWAY from the uv magnets, you can rip the block off of a uv magnet if you want they are the same. But go with a standard magnet.

To pull a tube, rip the magnet, flop in a new magnet, install tube and do a complete re align is about 2 hours tops if you have everything on hand. ::) Twice as long if you have to explain to others what you are doing ;) ;D If we do that to your laser we should do a video, it would be a good instruction video of something very few get to see...less on do themselves, it is not that hard :)

for a party and a half...try it on a 171 :D

I really want to save this for our meet, and yes this needs to be filmed..and this being the 00 tube and having Laserman532 working on it,,,,priceless!

Im a tad confused what you are calling a 00 tube...can you elaborate? What matters is...does it say -0073-00? what is the entire part number?

got it...your basic argon 168- have you ever fired it up, I mean gotten it to glow and beam out.

sounds like it is running good with that optic set, actually very well. (I am assuming 38 amps, field max 237 -243 PT Volts) Why do you need a magnet and anode block?

Do tell! Mine is a 7.5hp but it's an older motor, has a looooot of mass to it, probably 50% bigger than a modern 7.5 horse, which I heard was better for driving big loads. Anyway, if I can get a watt out of the laser on the converter I'll be happy. I have access to 3ph for when I really want to throw some juice Down the tube
