white light is all wavelengths combined. laser light is 1 wavelength. now the question

the white laser beam that comes out of the white fusion, is that all wave lengths, or just 3?

Just three. White light does not have to be all wavelengths, it can be as little as two to 'look' white. But the more wavelengths, the higher quality white light.

If I remember correctly, you just need to have the three different receptors in your eyes stimulated at the same level.

Not even 3. the best white I have ever seen in a laser projector was YELLOW and BLUE. No green or red at all.

Thats because the sensitivity of the red and green eye receptors overlap quite allot.

LoL, i started this thread and then deleted it before any replies came. but i'm glad i asked. good answers and explanations.

As far as I know the "white light" lasers are mixed gas ion lasers, that's an argon/krypton mix. Argon lasers have a lot of lines from green to the UV, krypton lasers go down to the red. Mix the gasses and you have white looking light with a lot of spectal lines.

blue fan.....have you seen the white fusion laser kit that is sold here. it is not a gas laser.. its a red, violet and green dpss mixed together.

I've seen it, but I usually think (and in this case too soon) of a mixed gas laser when I hear of a white light laser. The fusion kit is, well, a kit of 3 lasers. Still makes white the same way, combine enough spectral elements to be perceived as white.
