You know I kind of like the fact that I am just starting out on my adventure into the world of lasers and everything is still out there in front of me just waiting to be experienced for the first time ! :can:Hello folks!
Being that I purchased a 612/609/604/594 HeNe recently, I've mostly completed my spectrum, filling almost all the gaps except the 405-445 region.
Also being that I have a 7W NUBM44 build, I don't have much further to go in terms of power.
But I still want to expand my collection, in wavelengths or power... What should I do?! The only option I've been thinking of is a 425nm diode, and I don't know where to get one. Other than that, I'm stumped.
Please give me your advice on what to focus on next!
You could start collecting different types of LPMs
to measure all your different Lasers...

Thanks for the suggestions folks... Glad the thread has been cleaned up. I must say, I am amused by the self-promotion, keep it up
I've definitely been looking for more gas lasers, particularly a whitelight ArKr, but haven't had much luck lately. One of my suggestions ended up getting moved in the mess... sorry about all that!
How about you expand your collection more into the lab/gas laser sort? Perhaps look into holography or even your own DIY DPSS?
If I end up buying a 671 module from Lasever, I'll definitely commission your help for a host! How about some custom hosts while you're at it?
You should find a way to get a pic with all of the different coloured beams, that would be cool. If you're really stuck on ideas, come up with a really involved project, like combining high powered beams and see what you can get as the best optical setup. Optics really is fun to research about and would be even more enjoyable being hands-on, and since you've got some time (maybe cash?) to spare, then it sounds like it might work. :yh:
Definitely possible! I've been thinking a great deal about making a proper 07E build. If I do it, it'll probably end up being another lightsaber like my NUBM44.Spend some time finding us an affordable "good" 500mw+ 532 on top of all the good beginners threads:beer:
Tough one as you seem to have "everything"
Maby some more powerful diode builds, like a 07E at 5W.
Yes - thanks for reminding me! I'll check out your 671 too.You still need a 671nm DPSS red, and laserlands now has a 980nm pointer for like $10. Other than that, you have a very thorough collection.
Haha! I already have a 3.2W LaserBee LPM, so I think that should be enough. You could start collecting different types of LPMs
to measure all your different Lasers...

A CO2 is a very easy way to die! But I've definitely been considering buying something safer like an IR diode brick. You could get farther into the IR wavelengths, but not much to see there. More power wise, I suppose you could go big and try out a CO2 laser.
PS - You could always sell me your 561nm, and that way you you would still have something to search for!
How about a couple of dual diode builds? Or even possibly a three diode build ? And congrats on completeing your spectrum.
I say expand into the UV range

Create your own tanning bed.I say expand into the UV range

Run your argon into some scanners for projection.. I always suggest projection though.
Get a 30mW HeNe and a PCAOM for some full colour, gassy, awesomeness.
Seriously ... that'll create some awesome colours.
