When Will the Millionth Post Be Made?

It'd be useful to have some baseline rules laid out. Perhaps: Winner cannot have more than 3 posts within the last half hour of winning, if so, the 1,000,001th post-er will be rewarded the prize. Winning post must be on topic/related to the thread/not spam. Winner must have been a member for at least 3 weeks before the millionth post date.
 





My guess is deleted posts account for the 300k post differential. Lots of spam or needless posts getting deleted.
 
If we have a number of deleted posts that'd help because we could just subtract that from the post ID number. However, there probably isn't a deleted post count so the best we could do is continually check the post count, and when it hits 1,000,000 we go to the latest post to see who it was. This method has a lot of room for error and there is no guarantee that it will be accurate.

999,775 Posts now! So tomorrow or the day after we will have the millionth post!
I wonder how many people will be refreshing their pages when we get really close to the 1,000,000 post?:whistle:

And it might actually be possible to see who made the millionth post if someone can catch the home screen on the exactly millionth post (and of course take a few screenshots:)) and then look at the different categories to see the last post (by time) and who made it. It wouldn't be official because of the possibility of posts being deleted, but it still would be interesting if someone could capture it anyway.

Yea, that's what I was thinking as far as a bunch people will be refreshing the page right before the millionth. My guess is still July 1st, and the post-er will be one of these four:

I think now we are close, someone could contact LaserGlow or any company that does engraving and maybe we could have a small run of 1,000,000th post commemorative pens to celebrate the occasion. Lyras or maybe Rigels. Any member could purchase one and the millionth poster would receive one free.

^I really like the idea of the 1,000,000th engraved LG laser. Would make anyone who owns it feel special :)

I was thinking something similar to the 5 year anniversary ones from back in 2011. I missed out on those due to lack of funds at the time so would definitely be in this time if someone can design the engraving graphic. :D
 
The Millionth post! That is truly a great Acheivment for any forum. We'll done coldshadow and all the others that have helped to run LPF over the years as you have done a great job. Of course we cannot forget the rest of the members, past and present for their contributions as without them there would be no point in having a forum.
As to who posts the Millionth post it really does not matter a great deal as it is really a milestone for the forum not the individual. If it can be worked out though it would be good to see it go to an oldtimer. :beer:
 
it would be quite funny if the millionth post was made in this thread taking about who will make the millionth post, that would be a bit UnCany ! You Never Know Though
