What lights do you have?

I'm sure this will come off an awful lot like the newbs who post "I need a 2w 445nm, no less, please tell what you've got. Willing to pay $XXX blah blah blah". But maybe you guys will indulge me ;)

I've gone camping with my dad for the last... 25 perhaps years. We're sort of getting to the stage where we may not have a million camping trips left. Work/life/old age (for him) etc. We're not hard core campers, but really more of the "put our gadgets in a canoe and find somewhere to relax for 5 days in a tent" kind of campers.

Anyway, we're both gadget nerds (shocker right), and I'd really like to give him an absolutely nuts/crazy/bright flashlight for fathers day. I'm looking for some input. I've got a bunch of single and double 18650 P7s, R2s, R5s, etc, and they're all really bright. What I'm really looking for here (admitting this 100%) is the brightest most "awe inspiring / shock producing" flashlight I can find within the $150 range. I'd love to say that I cared about throw, etc, but being honest, we're not doing anything that really requires (or justifies) this. I just want the brightest I can find. I've been looking at the RL-2088 running an SST-50 (the one DTR made he infamous 2W 445 in). It's at the right price point for $110. Can I do better?

for $150, I would look into trustfire X6 which uses SST-90 and factory rated at 2300lm.

Nice erns :) 81 lumens looks a lot brighter when it's got such a nice beam. Some good throw on that, it looks like a great clip light.

Actually I think they are listing ANSI Lumens.

It's a lot brighter than the Fenix MC10, (first generation) I have. The MC10 uses an Osram led with a slight OP reflector. Fenix listed it at 125 lumens.

Ah I had one of those but in 35watt version. That thing was bright as hell. But i sold it b/c.. even though it is focusable beam, the beam was very "dirty" and the color of the light changes from 5500k to around 4000k as you roll or rotate the flashlight. Also the battery for some reason lost it's charge in a week just being stored. So I ordered SR90

Those are only about 35W if memory serves. They'd have a higher lux rating/reading and better throw simply due to their larger reflector. One thing to keep in mind is those are powered by SLA, if memory serves, so they're a lot heavier. They're good lights, I believe 2007Revolution has one, maybe he can chime in.

dang... best throw i've ever seen. do you have a link to where they are sold that cheap? the cheapest ones I found were only 3000lm not 3500 and it was still $80
