I'm pretty sure most Americans know the difference between college and a university, but are often used synonymously.  ;)

It just seems that most Americans say College instead of University. ;)
I would posit that most Americans don't have a clue what the difference is.

Peace,

I'm a senior in high school and I can function as a computer technician, web designer, network administrator and network security specialist. I'm looking into Cisco/Microsoft/A+ Certifications. I just haven't gotten around to them yet.

I have plans to either join the Air Force after high school, or go to a community college and get my transfer degree then join the Air Force. Either way, military is something I want to do.

After the military, I plan to apply for the FBI. Hopefully that'll work out but if it doesn't I'll go to a state college for two or four years and get a masters degree.

If I get really bored of all of those, then I can just go straight into low level law enforcement at basically any time.

I've been working on an ass grove in my couch for 5 years now. I was an iron worker till I tore my back out lifting an I-beam that was waaay to big to lift.

Dont be a fool, stay in school....

You are obviously interested in some kind of law enforcement but please, please, please don't become a sky cop in the Air Force. Security police is the job given to those who wash out of other military training. We called them rivet counters because their job was to walk around bombers and fighters and count rivets on the aircraft. Now if you can get into law enforcement that would be like a real police officer and OSI (office of special investigations) are like the detectives of the Air Force. Let me repeat, however, do NOT become a sky cop.

I'm first and foremost a medical student, but as most know, I also design/build my drivers. Lastly, I get paid to tutor anatomy (currently) to the 1st year medical students.

When I was in (I know it was a long time ago) there were two different kinds of "sky cops." One was "Security Police." Those are the ones you are referring to. They are the "grunts" of the Air Force. However, there was also "Law Enforcement." These ones patrolled in cars and acted like "regular" police.

Security police guard the gate, walk the fence line, stand next to the airplane, sit in a tower with a machine gun and freeze their asses off. Law enforcement, patrol the streets, write tickets, bust up bar fights, answer domestic violence calls, and eat donuts.

81st SPS, RAF Bentwaters, England -- "How's yo knees?"

Yeah I recommended Law Enforcement or OSI (he'd need to be an officer though). We were always threatened in tech school with being washed out to security police. Woot Bentwaters UK. 81st SPS.....ouch, lol. Alconbury AB UK here!

Middle School student.
I plan to go to college for something in the medical industry. Maybe work as a surgeon, or developing medicine.
BTW, this isn't biased in any way from lasers. ;D I have wanted to be a surgeon since I was 11.

WWII Dave? My uncle was a pilot and got shot down and died in the first wave of the invasion. My dad was in the infantry at the Battle of the Bulge. They lost 2000 men a day. He later reenlisted as a medic.

WWII ?!? Lol, that's a worse rip on poor Dave than the one I gave him about being a sky cop.

One emergency landing a week and one crash a year for one base isn't THAT bad, right?
