What is the coolest host you've ever seen?

sometimes the best host is no host :shhh:

technically it's not a host, but I like the way it's laid out all the same, kind of has a geeky feel to it with the wires showing.

I found the same battery in a crappy little remote control helicopter I have here after I ripped it to bits so I plan on doing a similar build soon hopefully

I saw one the other day that, on the laser side, had a vortex/rifled shape to them. Don't know where on LPF I found it though.

I did a search ... found 1 example on 3 pages of searches, but I suspect that wasn't the original - is there an original / 1st occurance? A tutorial?

How much for that (range of examples) in $$ ?

Little tritrium tubes on the front; how long do those last (I am guessing longer than any of us has left - hehehe)?

Heat skinking ability ... good duty cycle?

Its a bit bigger than expected, but I guess that is a good thing (re: a good pic, held in hand).

I guess it isn't all available in 1 place... ok... i'll do some research. It's probably a while B4 I can afford a custom / or / DIY anyway.

Bit of a controversial host, some say it's too busy, some say it's a bit like the Arctic, and some (like me) think it's awesome, evil-looking and waiting to be stored in the inside-pocket of an evil mad scientist to dispatch of his foes.

qumefox: Yeah, me too. I actually really liked your submission... I think I may have voted for it in the first round actually. Even if i didn't, i definitely would if it had been one of those new ones. I love how you can't tell where host ends and heatsink begins. Now all it needs is some tritium.

Let's see if someone will host the competition this year, maybe with different categories and different prizes for each category. Who knows? You might even all have the joy of putting up with me hosting it again!

Well, was partial enough to the C88 to let FlaminPyro do his magic. And magic it is.




So not sure if I should call that good enough, but there are so many nice designs out there, that I have to give some props.

Eudaimonium, I hadn't seen those hosts before, those are really beautiful. Thanks for reposting those. I really love the look of copper and steel together.


And with that in mind, Wannaburn's host is elegant, really makes me want to buy one for the future to put a diode in when the next gens arrive.

But I think Eghemus's hosts (or anything DTR has) make me drool the most. I can't prove that scientifically, but it seems that way.

Well, most of the stuff I have seen DTR post has been unique and/or high end. But yeah, I like a lot of the custom hosts I have seen here. A lot more than I dislike, for sure.
