That's badass. My hat is off to the webOS developers.

AFAIK the code to their interface is still proprietary, but I wasn't previously aware that it was based on linux.. That's definitely a step in the right direction.
I'd like to play around with their SDK when they actually release it.. From what I've heard the leaked version is really nothing more than a VM, and all their API's are still undocumented.

Word. I actually decided to go ahead and root my pre today. It is EASY, surprisingly easy, even for someone like me. I had it working and had root access 2 different ways within an hour, and after just a couple of hours I have a user account that I can putty/SSH into over wifi without having the phone in dev mode at all, and I have sudo working through that as well so I have root access if I need it. (It would've been much shorter, bu I screwed up something in the process of setting up a user account, sudo, and dropbear; did them all back to back and it just didn't work right, so I had to do it over again)

It's pretty awesome actually. Can't wait to really start modding the OS.

Other than this, as telphone, it sucks (here, at least, worse field-catch than any others) :crackup:
