What Did You Get on Black Friday?

I got two of these: Amazon.com: Plano 108360 Gun Guard AW Tactical Case 36": Sports & Outdoors

For only $30 each at Walmart where they were being sold as a loss-leader/door-buster deal. And I managed to score them on Saturday, the day after...

I've got close to 30 long-guns of various kinds, and only about 3 or 4 halfway decent cases. Some of which barely fit my pistol gripped military pattern rifles like my AR-15 or some of my AK's. I really needed some more cases.

When I was young (all those years ago...) one of my friend's Dad was an avid collector and even made his own ammo as a bunch of pieces in his collection were not "supported" in the country.
There were easily 150 rifles of some sort or another, there were a couple of "machineguns", an old tommygun, and even an authentic WWII bazooka.
He kept it all in his fortified basement (for security even back in the early 70s) with assorted other gear like full face gas masks, (on mannequins just to look good) various nation helmets, bayonets, swords, and lots more.
They moved up to the interior "wilds" of the province back in the early 80s. Haven't heard from them since but then again, I haven't heard anything about any sort of trouble using anything he had either, so I guess that it is all good.
His collection would be worth thou$and$ today. But registering it would cost just about as much too.

Have you considered that maybe you need fewer guns!

I mean 30 long guns... :wtf:

I love guns, but  what you have qualifies as a small armory.
You can never have too many guns.

Black Friday I got crabs from the neighbors wife!:yabbem:(rock crabs that is)

As long as you have the ammo for them!
I try to buy something at lest every other month.

My wife hates it......She got pissy with me when she found a Ar
in the grandfather clock. lol

I ran out of room what can i say. lmao

The long gun collection is about 50/50 modern, and Curio & Relic military surplus bolt-actions. Including handguns, I'm right at 40...

As to "too many guns", in a way, yes it is, just because there's never enough time to shoot them all and gain mastery of them. And feeding some of the more oddball calibers, like 7.5 French is a bit more expensive.

And of course, if you "Go Postal", you can only really carry about three guns with any practicality. :D

And my new safe, it was full the instant I got it. However, nothing bigger would fit down my basement steps.

I have however slowed down the acquisition of new guns the past few years, and focused more on getting them all properly supplied with some stores of ammo, more for inflation/economic reasons, or as a hedge against some future unavailability than doomsday. (Well, that too, however, if you need more than a few dozen rounds to protect yourself, you're either screwed, or "doing it wrong" and are done for anyway IMO...)

And I've focused more on getting the accessories/options for those guns I already have like optics, different stocks, extra magazines, or saving up to run the ATF gauntlet and get some of them made into taxed Short-Barreled-Rifles, and getting some suppressors.

I got an invite to be a mass tester for Star Wars: The Old Republic

Then I got the evil eye from my wife for spending too much time online. :(

Lucky SOB....

lol yeah. Thanks. It's pretty fun. I enjoyed it a lot more than I was expecting I would.

It's actually the second SWTOR test that I've been invited to. Both have just been for the weekend, and it's been painful to not be able to log in again after the test is over. I mean, I just got my spaceship and they cut me off! :scowl:

I need to get in on a good mmorpg, and starwars is by far my favorite fictional universe...

Have both of the unleash the force games on my pc... can't seem to get around to playing through it though... wtf happened to all my time... 8 games on my gaming computer, and no time:(

Yeah, mmorpgs are a huge time sink. Most of the time I only goof around on them after the family goes to bed.

The most recent one that I've managed to free myself from is EVE Online. I definately recommend it to the hardcore, online gamer. The learning curve is HUGE, so much so that most people that try the game quit because it's so complex. I played it for 3 years, and I never play any game for that long.

Anyway, here's a trailer and it's sequel. Fun and very addictive. Don't say I didn't warn you. ;)

My current gaming "plan" is as follows...

Skyrim - I only did the mail quest and one of the major side quests so far, so there are still at least three major plots to explore.

GTA4 and Episodes - I started GTA4 a long while back, and got through about two thirds of the game, maybe a tad more, but gave up on it out of sheer frustration with technical bugs. Even though my computer surpassed all requirements by a wide margin... I would still get get frozen to the point of having to do a reboot, and there were a ton of other glitches.... Like i was stuck crouching for some reason.

Going to give it another shot, but if not, NEVER getting another gta game again... the disaster that was gta4 on computer at release... well it was an epic rockstar fuckup imo.

After that I never played any assasins creed... so time to change that.

The rage trailer from besthesda has me intrigued. Then there is the next diablo installement, and starcraft expansions to look forward too.

So idk... might be a while before I can delve into mmorpg. The thing that's kept me away from them is that with singleplayer... I can drop them for weeks at a time... with true mmorpgs, it gets more involved.
