I would love to do video reviews of my lasers but I have no camera. I might sell my monitor or trade it for one here on the forums. What is the best camera you can use for reviews?

Just my $0.02:

I've head pretty good luck with the Flip Ultra HD - low cost, easy to use and does surprising well in low light. In better lighting conditions the quality is much better than I would have expected for a < $200 USD video camera. Has a standard tripod mount on the bottom, which is pretty much a requirement if you're going to use a camera for any type of review.

Also has the upside that it's small enough to carry with you, so it's always handy.

Captain Dan - You may need to change your title to, "What VIDEO camera do you use?". I know you may know what you mean but poor old Niko has missed the point. AGAIN!!! ;)

Why again?

I may have alzheimer's... but at least I don't have alzheimer's.

Actually, the Nikon D90 shoots really good video from what I've seen, at 720p no less. Not that I would use an SLR for video personally, but the camera will do it.

A webcam and Yawcam saving to a file. An S3 IS works pretty well too, but I like using a computer.

On another note, if you have a Canon, you can get custom control "firmware" to allow it to auto-zoom and do other features while recording via their video functions. No filesize limitations, no lack of zoom or other controls, etc. I have yet to try it with the S3.

I'm a Canon man myself but I did look up the D90 and didn't see any video in the specs. I stand/sit corrected, thanks. I see it now HDMI output; the lot... In this case then all my posts in this thread are clearly humourless and I misunderstood from the very start. My apologies to Niko too as I clearly DIDN'T get his post!

(Changing the title still stands though)

Well, my friend, I actually OWN a D90... you should check the reviews I did for the Evo Pro and the PD Pro, both were shot with the D90 (with the exception of one burning vid.). 720p video is good, but I wouldn't recommend it for the video features but for the excellent picture quality.

Yeah I seen it in your 4th of july video the quality looks good but I do notice that burnt CCD btw I thought that video was epic lol
It's decent for a 5 year old video camera :p I'd like to get something along the lines of this with XLR mic support

But they run at least 2 grand and up :p

Woah thats a heavy duty camera there humansymphony. Are you going to make movies or videos? On a more serious note, it looks nice and promising and expensive. 2 grand?!?!?!?!? WOW!!!!!!!!
