I also remember when I used to live back down in Frisco Texas we used to get these huge Garden spiders. They made some of the largest webs I've ever seen...but once the area became more populated the spiders went away.
I've also seen a few black widows in the garage, and once in my little sisters plastic playhouse... we got rid of that soon after.
