Well, I just done did it.

I believe Sanwu has G7's with the 9mm barrel option.
I really also need to get more G2's and G7's to have on hand. I sometimes switch lenses from one build to another and quickly lose track which is which.
Back on track BobM haven't seen a laser obsession yet on this forum to be matched:)
They do have blocks of that government cheese out there:whistle:

Yes, Sanwu's got the g7's in the 9 mm option. ~~~~. I glad I'm not the only one that forgets which is which! Heee ~~~~Oh by the way where could I pick up that block of government cheese?

I think I'm missing something, might not understand what the deal is, but the only way a lens can cut the divergence down by half is if the beam is twice as fat. If the focal length is longer for a lens, compared to another, that would allow the beam from the diode to expand more before collimation, and thus a lower divergence.

Don't know how or why but I've swapped out my dtr g2 lens with Sanwu's g7's on a 06, 07, mitts 500 and a 44 and on all them they cut the divergence down by a lot. Never measured it, but it real noticeable. If I get the chance/time I'll try to do some measurements?

Hi Gss,
yes they do have 9mm barrels and the G2 has 10mm barrels a little more thread. you can never have enough lenses. Hey maybe BM could get the 5 lb. cheese block and a couple pounds of pasta and save some more cash good thinking Gss LOL !!

Thanks guys! Think I'll start going to Lasers anonymous. My bank account will thank me :)

Ok, shall do. You like them better than the g2's
I don't care for the G2 lens. They have a nasty beam with MM diodes. The G7 lens is nice but I feel the lens is set too far to the bottom of the barrel. Its no use on my Ocarlo 635 since the module isn't long enough to catch the focus point of the lens with any part of the barrel threaded to it.also I could not get the 7mm g7 to thread nice into the module I think because the threads are not cut as deep on them.

Interesting, I meant to say you like the 2 element better than the g7's. I've never bought any g7 with the 7mm barrel all mine have been with the 9mm barrel. Wondering if you could run them through a die a cut the groves a little deeper? ~~ I'll check out dtr's 2 element and grab a couple on my next purchase from him and give them a try. Thanks for the tip. :)

I was thinking like that for a while. Fortunately I managed to quit buying lasers after I got my collection to a satisfying level. I collected all the readily obtainable wavelengths without going into gas lasers.

I pretty much got my collection where I want it. Sanwu's coming out with a underwater laser I'll have to pick up. Other than that I'm pretty satisfied. If something really sweet and original comes up, still will add, but for the most part I'm finished. Been building my own lately got almost a dozen under my belt. Mostly in EP's hosts and the LuxPro host I like. Thought about trying a gas powered one, but I'm not sure I want to go down that road. Saw a nice yellow one awhile back, thought about it. Commissioned Rick Trent to build me a dual diode r&g to yellow he's finishing up on, should have that one shortly. But I got the bug and I got bit pretty badly, but it keeps me busy and out of trouble, so it's a win win. Thanks for your words and take care! :)
