Weird 445 output!

The die is coated and still protected from air according to Pullbangdead.
You see the coating because the color is different from the surround when the light shines on it.

Probably the air oxygen can oxide the diode more quickly but the beam is more powerful to the eye, probably a lot more to the LPM .

Its been proven and tested that it does not cause any oxidization or direct degradation over what would happen while still sealed in the can. The only thing that it does is make it susceptible to debris getting on the actual crystal faucets but this problem is fairly easy to minimize if your lens is sealed well enough.
