Here is a post updating my obsession's current status. I think this will help me keep track of everything...so many details!

24/2/13:
1)Just ordered 3 wire kits from Flaminpyro and arranged the custom MASSIVE copper heat sink for THIS HOST for my 405nm build.

2) I still need to pick my Benboost Mini V5 or Microboost for this build.

3) From DTR, I have shipping a 445nm M140 in a module w/ 3-element lens. This is for my conservative MXDL host from Mrcrouse...when he ships it.

4) I have a 1.25mA BenBoost from Daguin shipping for the 445nm MXDL.

5) My beautiful 405nm host is currently shipping from China. I expect it in <2 weeks. It is shipping with 2x18650 3100mAh Panasonics and a charger.

6) The 650nm from DTR is shipping. This will be for my Hotlights clone build.

7) WHAT I STILL NEED TO ORDER:
1 driver for the 650nm (linear or boost)
1 driver for the405nm (Microboost or BenBoost Mini)
1 22600 battery or 2x14400 for the 3xAAA host sled for the 650nm host
1 Copper heat sink from Flaminpyro for the 405nm
1 Custom heat sink for the 650nm Hotlights clone

I think that's it for now. I'm sure something will come up before it's all said and done.

Thanks for reading!

in 7) #1 you say linear or boost - you mean linear or buck.

yeah, the wait...............brings to mind a song or two......waiting for the man - lou reed
or please, mr. postman - the marvelettes, both prolly being a bit before your time:beer:

Hey Cheech, thanks for your input. I DO mean linear or boost. I am planning on using a single 18650 (if it fits) or a 22600, so, if I can get a very efficient linear, cool..or else it will have to be a boost drive.

I am taking deep breaths and filling the time by doing more research on the upcoming builds.

A boost driver would kill your 650nm. That's what cheech was trying to say. 650 and 638 don't need high voltage like 405 and 445.

Damn...that's right. I've been trying to find one that was compatible. So, what is a good linear that can drive 400mA w/ a single 3.7V?

:thinking::banghead:

Moh sells a good linear driver for a good price. You can also check out cajunlaser.com

Yeah, I am already looking at his. I guess I can't beat the price, so, I'll give it a shot and remember to keep a charged battery around.

Ugh..to not have an option...
