Violet laser 303 gets super weak

Hey there,

I'm in rage, because my second violet laser 303 got extremely weak. I've heard that this often happens to violet lasers.
The biggest problem is that I don't have access to the driver.
Is this repairable and if so, how?

(I've fully charged the batteries)

405nm 303s are known to do this because they are built with the worst diodes available. There is no way to repair this except for buying a new one.

This^^

It's dead, I've had two of them die after <5 minutes of use. Don't recommend the 405nm 301/3s for that reason. The 532nms are decent at least.

Not a big loss at least, seeing as they are so cheap.

Only the 532nm 303/301 lasers are any good based on my experience. The red and violet ones just plain suck. I had a violet one where they didn't even put a strain reliever under the driver board, so every time you pushed on the button you were bending the diode pins. At least the green ones I've owned had a strain relief under the drivers.

Yeah, they're quite cheap, but ironically the green ones are quite cheaper.

I suppose this is about a specific vendor?

The host and wavelength don't seem problematic as such.

If these diodes actually fail in 5 minutes they are overdriving them pretty hard though, or they are using reject diodes or something like that.

yeahh it this happen to the 303 violets 1 out of 3 are ok
some 303s you can just pull out the module and diode i have a some of 303's collected the most powerful ones
YL-Laser and PM-Laser the PM-laser is the most powerful one and hard to get if your lucky the seller may ship you one

405nm is not very visible to our eyes to begin with. How "barely visible" is it? Got pictures?

You can't really expect much for approx. the price of a good cup of coffee.

If you wanrt a good 405nm have a look here: PL-E mini 445nm 450nm Blue Laser

Or here: https://www.sanwulasers.org/

not everbody sees 405s the same.
In rare cases some people can see IR or UV when others cannot .
Hope you understand that the mW is not the only factor--the wavelength is also important.
IMHO that makes 405nm the most dangerous visible wavelength and despite how 'dim' it may look no 405s should never be given to kiddos to 'play with'. (or many adults too)
