USPS Problem. Advice?

As long as it was not mistakenly sent to the moon , I can't think of one logical explaination to 2-year delay :thinking:

in the two yerars Luke had to wait the price of green pointer had gone down considerably- He was clearly disscusted and wanted them out of his sight so they were sold at a loss in large lots --iirc he had purchased >100


LPF BFF Dr Chuck of AixiZ Laser (houston) is active in the Coast Guard Aux( he is a capt) and thus is privy to some info we may not know- there are several 'lists' kept by US Customs the one you want on, or want to see your seller on, is the 'Trusted Importers 'list ..(like JETLASERS)..the one you DO NOT want to see is the opposite ,,,as it is the importers (like WL) that are NEVER to be trusted- ALL boxes with their name as sender are ALL seized and opened .... OUCH!! I think WL no longer puts their name on outgoing boxes AND I heard a rumor that thousands of WL 445s were shipped by BOAT to S.F. and then reshipped to the buyers in the USA -no wonder delivery was SO slow -- 'the slow boat from China' lol
 
I hope that's not the case with OP's laser, it's because of the backlog and delays in such cases are normal.

@hak: again great info, WL sure has some sort of reputation with delays and custom seizure as they are the triumph of disaster in this hobby. Good on you for getting us good deals from Jetlasers :beer:

about thefts by PO employees-- I am sure that happens but its an extremely rare thing here is why- 1) its a cush job to work for USPS- and has great benefits
2) they are NEVER piss tested-
3)they are well paid and most or all know that security cameras are everywhere- strict records are kept of things to be destroyed so how would one go about fudging the records kept by one that NEVER forgets??

items are accounted for in each step of the process- it would not be easy nor make ANY sense to risk so much for so little gain AND getting fired would be the LEAST of one's worries... they would likely get arrested and charged with perhaps a federal offence-

I personally do not want any idiots working for the PO anywhere USA so
as one would be an idiot to steal mail its best they get fired--

this story you MUST read:

An elderly senile lady wrote a letter addrerss to SANTA--- the post master opened it and read: 'Dear Santa-- I am just a poor old lady without much money- I would dearly love to cook a big Christmas meal for some of my poor friends- a ham or turkey and lots more-- i think this would cost me about 100$ can you get me that so i can do this..."
The letter touched the hearts of all at the PO so the Postmaster passed the hat and $92 was raised- it was put into envelope to be delivered and Santa was the 'sender'---

after the holidays were over, the letter carrier saw another letter from the lady addressed again to Santa--so it got opened and this is what was written " Dear SANTA-- thank so much for helping me make a big Christmas dinner for my friends we all had a wonderful Christmas thanks to you. BUT I must tell you that the amount you sent was 8$ short...
this MUST have been stolen by those SONS O BITCHES at the Post Office they are nothing but a bunch of thieves!!!

I said it was entirely possible, not going for a surety. It is also entirely possible to take a diffraction grating wrapped only in thin cardboard, stuff it into an envelope, send it through said mail system, and have it arrive safely in one piece. I am sure that happens, but it is an extremely rare thing.

And please let's don't start an argument about my forgetful computers.
 
Assuming that your laser is above Class 3a, your laser is not legal for import unless the product has its own accession number. It doesn't matter whether the product has all the safety features, though that is a requirement if the company files for a number in the first place.

This is why lasers from Laserglow can/will be confiscated if they're above Class 3a, despite being just overpriced, rebagged CNI lasers -- the latter of which probably have their own number if bought directly.

So, yes, your laser can be confiscated. Whether it actually happened is another matter that only time will tell.

Way too early for you to worry about it. All carriers are somewhat backlogged right now, and USPS is slower than most.

I had a laser sit at the new york isc for more then two weeks once. Then all of a sudden it's at my door.

Before you start sweating, best to give things at least 2 weeks.
 
All right, that means i have 5 days... Wish me luck!

Normally i wouldn't open a thread for this but for someone who is not even out of high school, $180
is A LOT of money. Some of you guys out there know what i mean...

Don't worry, it's Christmas time, so they have a little chaos. One year ago I lost USPS tracking for about 2 weeks... The laser came a week after new year, I was sure I lost it... Good luck (:

I just bought a laser from Israel and once the package got to the states, it didn't update until it was delivered, which was almost a week later I think.
 
Laser showed up at their San Diego facility today, which is weird which means they drove THROUGH Los Angeles to go there, and just went past and is now 2 hours PAST south of my place. That's in the opposite direction of my house lol.

Well it is an improvement. Lets see how long it sits there...

Ok this is actually the smallest problem i have had but this one pisses me off the MOST! Finally, the package was marked "out for delivery" I was SOOOO HAPPY! And i wait and im checking the mail every hour, as the delivery time is really sketchy. Then, at 5:45, i check my mailbox, and there is MAIL! So, i go out to look for the package, as the it would not have fit in the mailbox.

There was none.

WTF

This, in my opinion, is worse than having a package held up. Im furious lol.

I had my hopes up the whole day. I should have known better than to rely on USPS. Im paying for FeDex next time.

I have had two packages "lost" in the last week. Give them
a little time. One laser from Israel took 10 days to get from
NY to Iowa...... The other, 5 days -- go figure.

Well there is a difference between packages being "lost" and them being "out for delivery" and then not getting delivered....
