I saw one of these on a laser website and it said it illuminated with a 405nm laser shining on it and it looked all green, so i went on ebay and bought a pack of 4 for $4 before I even thought to question of a 30mw 532nm Green laser would do the same thing. Can somebody tell me if it would?

No a 532nm would not illuminate those marbles, it takes an ultraviolet light, which is a blu-ray (405nm). You might get a neat scatter effect but no glow with a 532nm green laser.

Those marbles are common around here now. I got 70 of them and now Jayrob sent me a "boulder" for my enjoyment. They are super with 405 lighting.

They are nice, rare too didn't they stop making them?

I don't think so. There's plenty of them on ebay right now, and probably about a bajillion online shops selling them. They're also known as "vaseline glass". They made lots of stuff from it; vases, cake plates, pitchers, etc.

I'm looking for one taht's over 3/4" in dia..
and not crackled or chipped. I want it solid all the way through.

Man Ken, if I had known, I wouldn't have crackled all of the 1" ones that I have. I bought about 60 1" translucent marbles that I crackled because I like them better crackled:

the other thing you can do is go to radio shack and buy their ultra-violet/purple led's and hook it up to a couple of button batteries so you can atleast illuminate them.

just a thought.

Look in the B/S/T section for people selling laser stuff, many have these marbles as well.

Also many common colored plastic things fluoresce quite nicely as well. The greenish-yellow transparent LEGO pieces really light up the room when the beam hits them. If you've got Playmobil, try hitting the torches!

Something I always wondered is if the green output of those marble is coherent light.

Cuz you could colimate it and make a weird green laser...
