Found this video on youtube YouTube - Laser fired at police helicopter

The footage is pretty crazy, if you look close when the pilot switches between modes on the camera, the IR can be seen.

Worth a watch..

if you look close when the pilot switches between modes on the camera, the IR can be seen.

The grayscale IR footage is thermal imaging, which isnt sensitive to IR leaked by green lasers. What is interesting is what happens when the green beam just misses the field of view: You see a sort of grey halo around the laser. This could be IR spill, but its hard to say for certain.

I wonder how powerful the laser was though, doenst mention it in the story unfortunately.

How do you edit the title? I was looking and gave up, hence the sarcasm...



- I wasnt thinking of this as a FLIR, I always think of a colour display, and was assuming IR.

Though it is the cleanest footage ive seen yet without it being a mock scenario or poor quality film.

Go to EDIT your 1st post... click on Go Advanced and at the top
of that page you can edit the Title...
