Awesome build Jay.

And it looks like this just made it to the front page of reddit. Expect several thousand page views in the coming hours. Hi reddit!

It's crazy man...

Check out the number of linkbacks to this page! 299 now and climbing! Mostly tech sites including some big names like Hackaday, HacknMod, Gizmodo, etc...

Hi Glenn,

I can honestly say that there could not have been a better home for my 12X diode! (IMO)

Of course, you could build one with a cheaper diode for a lot less money, but man, having the 12X power in there with my 405-G-1 glass lens makes it feel like a real phaser!

I have a FS thread linked in the first post for the custom parts needed. And I also offer a 'Hot' option build. But I cannot include the laser diode...

Yeah, that's amazing & I'm assuming it's coming from your Youtube entry. I'll have to turn off linkback notices though - I got like 90 mails yesterday & it's not even my thread... o_O

 Sorry...

Yeah it's up to 376 link backs now!

Crazy man! Made it to C-net:
Crave - Page 6 - CNET

And a news person from Russia contacted me to ask if they can put it on a Russian TV spot.

Also, CBS 'The Doctors' wants to do a piece on it!

I guess LPF will be getting some attention on this for a little longer...

This will probably be the most viewed thread on LPF for a very, very, very loing time. It has almost double the views of the second most viewed thread and the refbacks are still streaming in!

I think I might have the record for the most viewed thread! :)

It's been less than a month too!

Hey Jay, nice work.
Working with Pat on these, I have always kinda wanted to run a remote pot to the driver that could be controlled by the little dummy-knob on the side of the phaser, so you could turn down the power when desired. The shoots are very short and you could set the "max-power" much higher than you would comfortably run in a pointer. This would give you even more power, when you needed it without too much affect on your diode-life.
Barry
This is what i was looking for for some time now,... Great ! :lasergun:
If you ad a high power directed sound device to the phaser then you got a nice non lethal weapon that could disrupt the equilibrium of humanoides(when propery focused and diffused).
I like the new glass emitter of depth3d it does the ideal job for non lethal applications.
