iv done a search of the forum for a source of magnetic leads for battery charging and such but have not been able to find any.
anyone have any ideas on where i can find some.

or if anyone can make some.

I love those rare-earth magnets. They make setting up a driver with the actual host's battery sooo easy.

If you do end up doing this, make sure you use silicone insulated wire, none of that PVC crap.

ahk cheers guys. will go buys some silicone wire and some rare earth magnets.

There's nothing wrong with PVC insulation. A good 98% of the wire in this world uses PVC.

Nd magnets will be more powerful, but are not necessary.

There's two fine such magnets each in most optical sleds.;)
Instead of gluing though, I soldered the leads to the magnet!
Just be careful, clamp down the magnet, cause the soldering iron will stick to it.
Also, you gotta be quick about it, if you heat up the magnet too much too long, it will loose it's magic.

I've soldered to Nd magnets before. Just stick it to something magnetic, let the iron heat up to full temp, then force it down fair hard onto the magnet and feed it some solder. Once you have done that, attaching the wire is easy.

Just tin the wire first, sit it ontop of the solder blob on the magnet, and touch the iron to it again.
