I think of the module as just being the holder of the diode and it can come in all those forms and more just to give you options for mounting. Some have the diode already pressed in and some dont. In other words it's not one thing. The link you provided is extremely common and when a complete unit (diode and driver) are already installed you usually only have to connect 2 wires to a pre-made host with the 2 wire option such as ehgemus offers right on this forum. An easy option especially when you don't own the proper tools/meters to build and set up a complete module from scratch. Basically plug and play. At least this is the way I think of a module. It's a host for a diode and then you install it into something else which is the host for the module and either can have the driver installed in it to make a complete unit. The heatsink for the module may be a part of the module, separate or part of the host.
