Trouble setting flexdrive.

bbshamsa, Follow what Mo does in this video. This is how i solder the resistors together. Very easy and all you need is a little tap to the wire and it sticks. I feel this is the best method.



OP. If its not your battery source and i know everyone has told you this but, it is very sensitive. That little movement in between it going from 1.1amps to 600mA is the play room to set the driver to 1.5amps. Turning is slow will not be able to set it to 1.5amps. You have to kinda tap it to get it to 1.5amps.

Did you tried on a dummy pcb ? Like old computer stuff. Good for practice solderings.
You need to heat the tin just enough to become liquid and apply it to the connections. Too hot and the tin becomes too liquid. You can cool the flexdrive before starting the job.

Yes, I'd done that, and did quite well for me!

The thing is I've never done anything on this small a scale before, and the results show.

I found the solder just wouldn't stick at all, and just grew larger.

I thought about maybe laying a tiny piece of wire, like one of the strands inside a multi-strand wire, along the route I want to solder next time, and this way the solder would have something to stick to.

bbshamsa, what you're running into is the flux that has ended up on the board from your soldering attempts is wetting the solder so much that you can't draw it across the resistors for bridging. Clean off the flux with some ethanol or flux remover and dry again, this time letting flux burn off your soldering pencil after applying the solder to the pencil first.
 
Hi, I just ordered the V5 too. The instructions that came with mine say to remove the last resistor on the bottom right for 1.5A output. The new pdf manual is different from the old one. I looked online but couldn't find one that says to do this like mine does.

I'm not sure how to post it here but if you email me I'll send you a copy of the pdf file.

I was thinking the same thing, Not sure if I have the right driver in mind but I recall reading that you had to remove one of the resistors in order to hit the 1.5A limit. I would also work on cleaning up your solder a bit if possible, the video linked above will make for a much cleaner solder job to connect those components instead of that giant blob of solder you are currently using. And I would trim up the leads you are currently using as well.
 
Look what version flexdrive your have. The v4 need resistors removed and the v5 don't. The version number are printed on the pcb.
 
Here's one that I did. It got a bit blobbier than I wanted it to.

I also, perhaps incorrectly, removed the end resistor.
