TRACKING OF YOUR IGORT's LASER ORDER!

Hello all, i post to you some things that Igor told me for bonus reds etc.

"I'll wait for the others to get their blu-rays and decide on the reds, then we can all order the flexdrives together - send money to DrLava, and i make your reds, and later i get the FlexDrives... For making the reds i'll use the FlexDrives i have here..."

"P.S. I hope you mentioned on the forum, that you got your blu-ray, and that you're getting a bonus laser, to make up for the waiting? I want people to know, that i care first of all about making sure everyone is happy.. After all that's happened, some people don't trust me anymore, but i'm sure that you now know that i'm not a bad person, and that i would do anything in my power to make everyone happy, if at all possible. And if i fail to do so, that i at least try to make up for it (bonus lasers)..."

Suprisingly, I received my laser yesterday !!!!!

HAHA, it's a really nice one, rated at 192mw !!

(Me), Sam7, Ben74,electron, guastafeste, xxcat, WizardKing = 7

Just 7 of us left.
Glad that you received yours :)
Have fun

my friend starhawke just got an email from igor regarding batch 3.

here is a copy/paste of what he sent to starhawke

"Hey!

So you were supposed to be in Batch #3? I can do that yes. Things are getting better now on my end. Altho it took three weeks without sleeping! :(

But finally i can start accepting orders again, and all will be good in the end.

So if you are batch 3, did you get instructions from Franco on what to do?"

I would be guessing about 800+ hours, but I really don't know for sure. Igor would replace the diode if it didn't last 3 months, after that I would still ask, he'd be more than fair, and anyway, I see few reports of diodes failing when used properly. -Glenn

Sam7:

6x lifespan? That's a damned good question, but I think it's also difficult to give an answer, as it's too early to collect a practical experience "on the field".
From my side, what I can say is that in october 2008 I received from Igor a BR laser with a PHR diode installed in a Romisen host, having an output of 120mW stable as a rock, as you can see in the graph herebelow:

I used it to make a lot of pyrography (that means several sessions of several minutes continuously burning drawings in the wood) like that:

and it's still working flawlessly. Igor is really meticulous in his work, he has made a lot of tests to find a good safety limit for the diodes he uses, and if you want a diode long life it's better to follow his suggestions......:yh:
Off course it's up to you to ask him for a higher P.O. level, with the relevant consequences....

Concerning the batch 3 request/orders, as I already said in a previous answer, everybody is willing to have info on his laser (already ordered) or has the intention to order a laser in this batch is kindly requested to PM me, and I'll be happy to give him the right info how to contact Igor.

hightechdealz has a 6x diode/aixiz module/rkcstr micro driver set at 200Ma, which yields about 196mw. just wondering what sets igor's apart from this one.

That's an odd question, especially coming from someone who ordered a 6X from Igor already...

If you mean this module from hightechdealz then for one, it's not a complete laser. You will still need a heatsink and of course a host. I'm not personally familiar with hightechdealz' work but he/she verifies the o/p of the diode for 60 seconds... .

From Igor, you get a

  • custom-made heatsink specifically for the Romisens.
  • custom-made driver (this was the days before the DrLava FlexDrive v4 which should alleviate the need for custom-made drivers).
  • A 6X diode that has been efficiency-tested
  • A 6x diode who's wavelength has been rated (for lack of better term)
  • fully-assembled heatsink-module combo that has been tested for periods much longer than 60s...
  • 3-month guarantee if the diode goes south
  • General support and low-cost repair / replacement with no specific time limits, etc.
Is it worth $260...? I don't know, tbh, that's a question that each buyer must ask himself.

Igor is one of the best builders here, no doubt about that, but he's not the only great builder. Right now Milos has a nice 6X for sale and just looking at the images it's clear that he is meticulous with his work!!!

i was just curious.
i was exploring my other options, just in case.

hightechdealz has an ad on the front page and a certain prominent member already gave me their endorsement of them.

the romisen host is by far the best one i have seen.

Have you received your bluray? Or still waiting?
I am expecting mine to be delivered today

Ciao,

any luck yet? Fingers crossed... :gh:

I received it right now :)
First photo with my cellphone nokia 6300.
I'll open it at home cause I am at work now:beer:
