hey guys, as most of you scanpro owners would have recieved a DMX program board, I was thinking it would be pretty cool if you could put your own patterns onto it, and control via DMX etc like you do to the regular ones. Well, BlueFusion and I have done abit of researc and discovered that the chip that holds the patterns is just a simple CMOS flash memory chip!

So basically, we are in the proccess of figuring out how we can make it possible to add custom patterns, and it may just be as simple as a programmer board!

we also may have some software that converts ILDA files to the format required by the chip. if we succeed, this will be a cheap DAC in a sort. while you will still only have DMX/sound/auto control, and not direct from the computer control, its better than just having to use the original ones, You could add your own!!

I'll update this thread with the progress as it goes on!

Cheers ;)

:Dholy pooo!!! woohoo..... BEAM SHOWS!!!! hectic beam shows! shotgun the first batch!!!

OK, just contacted the manufacturer of the program boards and asked about the program. I am looking for a programming board to I can have a go at this. If it works, you can get a programmer board for yourself, or I could start custom programming stuff onto them for people.
:)

It would be nice to have Eproms and make an entire show on a chip. Switch chips and you have another set os slides or whatever.

If the chip holds 4 Mb, how big is each "slide"? Can the audio input be programed to respond to audio input like the lanling?

Mike

sorry, made a mistake, its 4Mbit ...

You can pretty much do what your laser does now, but you can use your own custom patterns. You will have access to YOUR custom patterns when you are running it in DMX/sound/auto mode ..

You can do just what you said, you could have a Eprom with graphics on it, another with beamshows etc, and just swap em over when you need. I have got in contact with the company that makes the program board ...

i just ordered a set of scanpro 20s to see how they are and make a little budget scanner, i may be interested in this now
