Three of My Favorite Blu-Ray Hosts

In the palm of my hand are three of my favorite blu-ray hosts that I like so much, I must show them off together.

As you know, there are many different hosts. For the ones that I have built (or had in my possession), these are my favorites...

All of these hosts are unique, and have different battery supplies.

The largest of the 3, my Pocket Mini, takes a 3.0 volt lithium primary, or a 3.6 volt RCR123 rechargeable.

The center laser, is an awesome design by IgorT! I love the size of this build. It is the same diameter as my tiny key chain laser, but uses a 10440 battery, which has probably nearly 10 times the capacity of the 10180 battery that the key chain build uses!

Plus there is the pocket clip for this 'shirt pocket' beauty! 8-)

Igor gave me some measurements and asked me if I could modify a few AixiZ modules for his idea on the build....

He gave me a laser for doing the modification! :D Believe me, I got the way better end of the deal! I owe you Igor! VERY nice build! :)

That's my Pocket Mini...

I have about 20 or so of the hosts on hand, and will be offering the host, with heatsink, and also to do the modification on the 'pill' for an easy build.

You can see detailed pictures in my thread of how it will go together:
http://www.laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1226875831/0

Heatsink - $19
Host - $14
Drill out the pill - $6
Shipping for all - $7 (with signature confirmation - U.S.)

I will include the extra parts in a baggie. (LED emitter, reflector, etc...)

All you will need is the driver, module, and diode! :)

Total - $46 shipped.
Jay

I have already ordered 2 phr sleds. For the first diode, I will be working with a project box because I can't spend more money on host and heatsink. However, if the first diode won't die fast, I will take the second one to put it in a host like yours ;)

I am very glad you like it, Jay! Means a lot, ESPECIALY from you! :)

You helped make it come true, otherwise it would not be possible. The laser was the least i could do.. I hope you enjoy it.
Besides, you did the modifications, before i was even done asking, you don't owe me anything.. ;)

Otherwise, i was wondering where you got the tiny 10180 Li-Ion! The smallest i have is 10220, and i was attempting something similar to your tiny build, but my battery simply won't fit, no matter what i do. But the 10180 just might! :D

EDIT: Woot! You have a 6x in that tiny monster on the left! :o Very cool! ;)

Actually a better way for IgorT to get one is to purchase directly from the guy on candlepowerforums.  since he lives in the UK shipping would be quicker and cheaper and he probably wouldn't need to worry about his country's customs harrassing him about the package having come from UK.  I'll find the link and post it here

He's out of stock as well, but you are correct.

Peace,
dave

That's how I got the 10180's, I PM'd AW on CPF.  He responded quickly. Seems to have good customer service. He may be getting more soon I would imagine...

You noticed that huh! It's my all time favorite so far. I wasn't going to say anything, but I must let it out! :D...

I found a long wavelength 6X diode and I can't believe how bright it is visually! It is set at 181mA's and putting out 171mW's through an AixiZ acrylic lens in the Pocket Mini host. It is as visually bright as my 209mW 6X build side by side in the dark! Actually brighter. Because the beam looks brighter. Now, who knows how often a guy might find a 6X diode like this. Probably not as often as with the PHR's. But I had to keep it...

SCORE! FTW

Major score! When you find one this bright, no need to push it. I think it should have a long life at 181mA's! 8-)

Hi Jay! I'm currently trying your pocket mini build! I have two problems: I can't figure out how to get the LED assembly out without ruining it ; and the protected cells won't fit.I would really like it to be usable with protected RCR123a's and by the looks of it, cutting the spring shorter won't help, there's another piece of metal that stops the battery from getting deeper.Should I just try to make the new laser assembly shorter than the LED assembly? :-/
