Thread merging

OK I know we are trying to keep the 445 stuff in one location, but I just logged on the Spider thread it was

pages from where I left it. WTF? How is an anyone suppose to go through that? On another thread the new member posted 6 questions about 445nm laser and safety goggles. We answered him, then the thread got merged into another 455 thread and was 6 pages behind the latest post. Our answers were gone. They were decent questions, and I'm sure more people were looking for simular answers.

I understand the need to clean things up, but if its not done right, why bother doing it at all? You might as well delete the whole thing.

I would actually have no problem with that idea

The 445nm board was becoming a "WL Arctic" board. WL has their own forum. As you elude to in your post, the shear volume of "chatter" revolving around the Arctic is problematic.

I readily admit that with the consolidation some things that some think are interesting do get swept along in the current. I'm not perfect, just cute

I'd dump the Wicked threads. If you're new, there is no way to read through all that. And the people who have been following the thread already know everything that needs to known till the Spider 3s are shipped. So for the most part its all useless banter, and speculation for the most part.

I would ask that this thread be restricted to specific and constructive conversation and contributions of beam shots and videos. The thread is intended to provide a critical analysis of this specific laser product and its components. There will be no banter or speculation about laws, dangers, burning things, and other uses or mis-uses of lasers. Moderator has permission to delete off-topic posts.

LOL! that must be a pretty empty thread right now. Or are they analizing WL's video? This wouldn't solve the"whack-a-mole" problem. I figured it was better to give them someplace to vent their adolescent angst.

When (if?) they finally do start to ship, we will have another tidal wave of "useful" posts and then it should die down to the point where we can actually discuss it.

i have a little input as well... in all the other boards... RED, GREEN, VIOLET, all builds are allowed to be kept in their own thread. why not with 445, i never posted a build until my 445 then it just got thrown in mess... =(

now nobody will be able to see my shody craftsmanship

Sorry about that. However, until the furor dies down, it is going to be a bit frustrating. This is a compromise. As such NO ONE is going to be completely satisfied. That is the difference between compromise and consensus.

I pop by every once in a while now to look at the last couple of pages just to see if anyone has gone crazy As the level of frustration increases so does the probability that someone will snap. :angel:

I vote for deletion. We will loose a few good posts, but you cannot find them under all the crap anyway.
