Hey everyone, with all the 445nm diode madness during the last months, have you ever really thought with the amount of power we are dealing with? I mean, we were playing with typical chinese greenies, and in summer 2010 these casio projectors appeared to totally change our laser experience.

I have to admit that I was about to abandon the laser hobby. Seriously this affordable blue light has written history in the laser hobby :D

I was playing with Class IV lasers before the 445nm diodes appeared on the market.
However, I am entertained more by my "low" power lasers.

By the way, many are still playing with "typical Chinese greenies."

Wait till you see what is comming next :D

Are you referring to the new a150 projectors?

@ Ra_pierce, well yea, im aware that many have had class IV lasers before this, but the fact that these powerful diodes are affordable has given a chance to everyone to own a high powered blue. I could not afford any before.

I think Flamin is commenting on the fact that technology gets exponentially "better" as time go on. I wouldn't be surprised to see 5W 445 "handhelds" or 1-2W 532s in less than a decade. I looked up the laser tech we had 10+ years ago and was pretty amazed at how far we have come.

What scares me is the very likely use of 445s in demonstrations. Rocks and molintov coctails are bad and have been around forever..... this new waepon will for sure change everything.
