Wow, I would hope those thoughts happened and passed with in a thousandth of a second as you scanned the area before you turned it on... Before the battery was even in...
 





I used to tell people to first buy a cheap laser, 1mW red, or 5mW green from laserglow, and shine it at EVERYTHING, to get an idea for what's reflective and what's not.

Unfortunately no one actually bothered to do that, so I stopped... now just stick to the "get your goggles" spiel as can be seen in my signature.
 
a vet on lpf says wl may have gotten their act together.... i thought i'd never see the day.
 
For all the money they made on the Arctic fiasco it sure
took them a while to invest in a Laser Power Meter for $2K.

But then again it would be like shooting yourself in the foot
to supply Graphs of under Spec Lasers a company was selling.

True, but I'd say they are about 3 years ahead in advertizing and site structure, and currently their customer support has been great. Their lasers aren't a good value though, prices quite high and is you ask why they say it's because their's are made to have a unlimited duty cycle and others are not.

Hey Smeer,

He's probably talking about this picture you posted, wondering what wavelengths the AR coatings were for.

On an unrelated note, wouldn't it be neat to have a laser with an angled glass at brewsters for environmental protection instead of coated glass?
 
First post... Hi all,

I have read a number of the threads on this forum prior to registering an account, and thought I would chime in with my most recent WL experience.

Communications with the company were very fast - within an hour fast, and both Joe and Jeice were able to answer my questions directly. There was never any marketing hype inserted or sales pressure. Item (Arctic S3 1.25w) was ordered on Tuesday Jan. 8th, tracking information followed a couple days later, and when I last checked the package is already in country. Customs has cleared it, and it is enroute to the destination address. At present it is only four hours away, and should be delivered sometime Monday Jan. 21st. So start to finish - 13 days.

My comments are based only on the process from pre-purchase to delivery - and at present it is more than satisfactory.

Hi Kart..

The green glass is used for 473nm
The red glass for 445nm
And the white glass for 532nm

Here's what i ment with blue halo

With the old style glasses from WL you still can see everything...including the blue halo around the dot.

The new Safetyglasses from WL do this.. without a halo around it, and just a white dot.

Good for you... I'm glad that you are satisfied with your
WL purchase....
I'd be curious as to it's actual power metered on a recently
calibrated LPM.

Since you have read on the Forum before registering it
would have been great if you introduced yourself to the
Forum for your first post.

I may be wrong but it seems that you only registered to
shill for WL....:undecided:

Hi Jerry... You are correct in your assumption that you "may be" wrong. I am not a WL shill. I'm just that guy from Ottawa who contacted you last week about purchasing one of your LPM's :shhh: and I must say I'm looking forward to adding your LaserBee to my test equipment.
