Anyways, here are three great places to get trance music:

1. This guy has about 60 songs. His old account TranceDevotee had several hundred tracks, but it got suspended. Not all of the songs are trance, though.

2. The Mod Archive is another good source. However, you will need software that can play S3M, XM and IT files, such as Plouf's ModPlayer, VLC and ModPlug Player. Alternatively, you can use ModPlug Tracker to convert them to MP3.

3. The Newgrounds Audio Portal has some pretty good songs as well.

Gouryella (Tiesto/Corsten) is one of my favorite progressive trance artists. Although I do see what you're saying about the thin nature of the song, sometimes it really is simplicity that delineates beauty.
