This is all I can contribute with  :-[
Makes perfect sense that the answer to life, the universe and everything divided by pi is 13.37 :D

Btw, I don't get the 2.9999999/3 thing :-/

you know what even cooler than the 0.(9) = 1 thing, or that infinity/infinity can represent any number from 0 to infinity is

e^(pi*i) - 1 = 0

yeah we have 2 numbers that we pulled out of our a** (e and pi) and an imaginary frickin number (i sqrt(-1) ) and 1 and 0 all rolled into one expression that will drive you nuts with you get into your 2nd year of math in college

Although I will give ya, the e^pi-pi = 19.9991...is a a pretty awesome fluke :)

I proved this to my friend, and he said "You broke physics!"

Awesome, 444th post.

Prove this to us ::)

n=.999...
10n=9.999...
-n -n
9n=9
9n/9=9/9
n=9/9
n=1
Nononononono! The error in this logic is that you are using n as BOTH a variable and a constant. When you subtracted n from 10n, you were treating n as a variable, while you were treating it as a constant when subtracting it from 9.999. If you were to use both as a constant, you the 10n - n would equal .001.

ANOTHER logical error in a wikipedia example stating that .33333333... = 1/3, is that .333... does NOT equal 1/3. It's simply the closest you can get to expressing it in decimal form.
Could you please rephrase that? I already understood that 1/3 = 0.333...

There are 10 types of people in the world. Those who can read binary and Those who can't

I can proof that a cat has nine tails:

- no cat has eight tails
- one cat has one tail more than no cat
--> it follows that one cat has eight plus one = nine tails
