OK, I'm usually not much of an off-topic guy, but I cannot deny the
apparent popularity of this here particular subforum.
So I saw the "trance thread" and figured: yeah, trance is nice but
other music is great too!
I consider myself somewhat of a musical nerd, wouldn't say a snob though,
I have my guilty pleasures. So let me try and every once in a while
post a nice piece of music I think some of you might enjoy (or maybe not ).
I have a broad taste, so you might discover some cool new stuff you never
heard before, or maybe remember an old classic you haven't heard in a while.
I invite people to join in and post their favorites too, but please:
Don't post any recent radio-friendly music off your local hit-parade
if you please, and please refrain from trolling by posting crap music
(you know the kind).
If you have some good stuff you think is not widely known but should be,
or remember a really good track from say, at least 10 years ago, then
go ahead and share.
Not trying to be a nazi here, just trying to maintain some kind of a standard.
Also, if you'd like to spend some time reading about music, I will suggest these two sites,
I consider them both to be biased yet good resources (otherwise I wouldn't post them here):
This one is all in flash and strictly about electronic music:
http://techno.org/electronic-music-guide/
This one is in Web 1.0 format and mostly about 50's-70's Rock
http://starling.rinet.ru/music/index.htm
You can expect me to post music from roughly 1960-1990, with
some exceptions of course.
Enough with the yaddayadda, here's a double feature to kick it off:
This is what Danny Elfman did long before composing for the silver screen:
Or if you want something more electronical even older (1980) from Japan:
Lahzors at 2:40.
Hope you enjoyed, see you soon!
