Link is the rock hero you've never heard about. He was a direct influence to Pete Townshend, Ray Davies, Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, and dozens more top guitar gods.

Some more 80's pop goodness, today it's Tears for Fears. Might wanna crank up the volume, too.

This one is right off their 1983 debut album "The Hurting".
Most of you likely recognize this one from the (utterly lame) Gary Jules cover for "Donnie Darko".
The original is two orders of magnitude better.

Something about that sound triggers a deep feeling of nostalgia and sends shivers
down my spine.


A few years later, and their sound became more refined.
This is one example of flawless pop-music producing, can you say bombastic?
Todays records have lost all dynamics, thanks to the stupid loudness wars:rolleyes:


Unfortunately, how it happens so often, later releases were kind of mediocre, so stick to
the first two or three albums.
