the LEGENDARY TRAX thread

Link Wray.

Link is the rock hero you've never heard about. He was a direct influence to Pete Townshend, Ray Davies, Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, and dozens more top guitar gods.

Love this too.

Hey I didn't know about Link Wray! Apparently, he rocked pretty hard.
Thanks for educating me.

I used to like these guys alot, they have some catchy mellow tunes:

Some more 80's pop goodness, today it's Tears for Fears. Might wanna crank up the volume, too.

This one is right off their 1983 debut album "The Hurting".
Most of you likely recognize this one from the (utterly lame) Gary Jules cover for "Donnie Darko".
The original is two orders of magnitude better.

Something about that sound triggers a deep feeling of nostalgia and sends shivers
down my spine.

A few years later, and their sound became more refined.
This is one example of flawless pop-music producing, can you say bombastic?
Todays records have lost all dynamics, thanks to the stupid loudness wars:rolleyes:

Unfortunately, how it happens so often, later releases were kind of mediocre, so stick to
the first two or three albums.

A classic from one of my favorite bands.

Another great one:

Waaay to many to list...:)

A couple that I enjoy..........

Humble Pie - Stone Cold Fever

Santana/Everlast - Put Your Lights On

@ Anselm

Thanxs for posting Tears for Fears ! Reminds me to a very good decade of my life. Not to forget Talk Talk, Falco, Franky goes to Hollywood and the Master David Bowie.

@dawinzi:
LOL, that's funny, now I have to download and watch that Heinz Erhardt movie.
I'm glad you like TFF, their first album "The Hurting" is so great, their best IMHO.
here's another two:
YouTube - Tears For Fears - "Suffer The Children"
YouTube - Tears for Fears - Change
@brtaman:
Rock solid classics right there! Good choice!
@milirad:
I like Humble Pie too, especialy that "Town and Country" album.
Santana, I much prefer the older stuff 60's ad 70's.

Here are two quick and dirty ones. True punk.

OH and totally unrelated, but finally I found this one on the tube!:wave:
Something to wash your eyes and ears with:

No introduction needed here, always guaranteed to raise the mood.

How come debut albums are often the band's best?:thinking:

Todays special: 80's music with "science" in the title.:na::wtf:
Thomas Dolby and Danny Elfmans band Oingo Boingo.
