The LEDShoppe Thread

Waiting on a 50mW.

Sadly, I had a bad (sort of) experience with Ledshoppe. I don't have a laser power meter, But my friend has a 30mw green laser and the beams at night, and dot on wall were almost completely identical. Dot through white paper were the same, and shined through coca cola, the orange type beam it creates, both lasers made it through the coke about an inch. So I assume I got around a 30mw instead of a 50. But for the price...Who cares, right? Better than buying a 5mw green at office depot for 80 bucks lmfao.

There won't be much of a visible difference between 50 and 30mW.
My X50 (averaging 61mW) is nearly as bright as my modified X105.
On low batteries, the X105's beam looks exactly the same as the X50, but the 105 still burns through paper easily.

takes FOUR times the power to be TWICE as bright :P

EDIT: 666 post! [smiley=evil.gif]

Lol, I'm waiting on a 90mw average pen from Susie atm. Although my experience with Ledshoppe was pretty good now that I look back on it. Not a bad price for what you get. Much better than my first ever purchase from amazon...30mw pointer did that "beam shift over when it turns on" thing. At least I only trashed around 20 bucks. Fairly cheap lesson to learn. Didn't know about the forum then though.

I just got delivery of 2 more of these 50 mW LED Shoppe units, and these are rockin as well. 80 & 85 mW on my Kenometer, and the dot looks sharp and intense from 30 feet compared to my PL III 125 mW unit! So, three of the last 4 were about 80 mW with regular Alcaline batteries, (I only have one pair of Nimh's but I'll be wanting more). I sure hope all those folks who use these in short burning experiments have goggles! 8-) 8-) 8-)

I ordered 10 of the 5mw lasers from ledshoppe, and received them promptly in a week. This was all great but upon receiving them, 3 didnt even work, and the ones that did were extremely underpowered, and the threads didnt mesh at all. I emailed CCNow and they contacted Ledshoppe, I then received an email directly from LedShoppe, and they are sending me ten new personally tested lasers. I hope these will work, because ATM I am not very satisfied with their products.

Ten new pointers without question is a pretty generous customer service gesture in my opinion.

That said, I believe all of those "black" pointers (ie not 50mW or 30mW) have decidedly worse quality control than the silver ones. My 5mW blackie that I bought for my brother came with a dent near the apeture and a lopsidedly mounted module.

yah, i ordered two 5mw green lasers off ebay, which had "laser pointer" on the clip on the side of the pointer, and the Ledshoppe 5mw's dont have that, and also have a different warning label, and are case positive. the 50 and 30 mw's have the "laser pointer" engraved in the clip, and have the same warning label. On the label of the 30 and 50mw as well as the ebay 5mw's, it says the brand is "RAY"

If you mean the AAA sized 10440 batteries, I've heard they will work, but you can only use ONE per pointer with a AAA spacer, else you will far exceed the allowable input voltage of the module, and fry it.

EDIT: By AAA spacer I mean a dummy battery or something that can complete the circuit, NOT a normal AAA battery! You'll probably have to create your own, as I don't think these exist...

sorry for double post in advance but just ordered the 50mW greenie about 4 days ago.. cant wait 8-)
