The kipkay Report

The small aperture makes the beam look "rounder." People liked that more than they liked a higher output.

Please do post about the lens aperture when you get them.

Peace,
dave
No problem, I think I'll try to place the order this week so I get them fairly soon, hopefully before the end of my spring school break, so I have something to play around with ;)

TIME OFF!?!

I have all of my students researching and writing speeches while studying for their midterm over Spring break :eg:

Peace,

Evil. Pure evil you are Dave...

Your torturous schemes will be better for them long term though. It builds character.

I'm already finished with Spring break fortunately.

This is just one of the services I offer

When I do, I'll let you know.

BTW, Nice to see Aixiz finalyl got their plastic lenses straight.
Making small 1mm hole on plastic holder of the lens was a bit of a *fail*.

It cracks me up when I see things like this.. believe it or not, there are folks out there that value beam quality over power output. So for us, it's definitely NOT a *fail*.

Sorry about that then :yabbem:
, but
They can put the 1mm hole on 5 mW or so modules, but why on 10blanks pack?
They are going to be used in high power apps, and such high powers start to melt the plastic even.
If they are already caring for beam shape, why not make a brass holder that is not going to melt under such power?

And cutting of the beam like that creates some nice artifacts around the main beam. Not that attractive actually.

They cannot satisfy everyone, so they go where the most money is. There are a lot of us here. However, we are NOT the biggest users of these modules. You would be surprised how many of these modules aiXiz ships a month.

Peace,
dave

For higher power, it's best to use glass lenses either from Aixiz or from other places. That's actually been stated by Aixiz in ebay auctions and on their website.

Also, there's nothing wrong with being of the "moar powah" sort, but good beam quality is often a key indicator of the quality of a laser system, hence why many of us are suckers for clean beams.

I keep my lenses clean ALWAYS, and care greatly to reduce any possible artifacts of the beam, therefore I have the plastic that gets in the way causing a ... 10° fan spread of little smudged dots around the beam.

Anyhow, I must admit I want every mW out of my laser, with plastic lens since I cannot really afford those Jay lenses.

regardless of his information that he use to spread around the net... he has a dreamy voice and great video editing that make me listen to his videos over and over again until i finally reach that point when the batteries tense up and my white laser fires.

I can't figure out about these parts and tutorials for my minimaglight?

If you give a mouse a cookie...

If you buy a man a diode, hes going to need a driver. If you give that man a driver he is going to want a heat sinc but if you give that man a diode, driver and heat sinc he is going to need a case and batteries.

MikeBP,

Sentences sound a lot better when some common sense is integrated into them.
Please say something that actually helps or is in any way informative.
I can sure see why you have 3 red bars under your name.

BTW, Having a nice voice does not mean everything you say is true. Actually it's exactly the opossite in Kip's example.

Don't bother, Jerry.
Can't you see that he himself does not know what is he talking about...
He posted twice in a row, no sense in any post.
