lol 10 Gigawatts!
More than enough for 4 round trips with the DeLorean!

I'll use it to threaten the neighbourhood!
Mwahahahahahaha

Hi all, just joined up here. Had to - I found the same type of ad for a 10000mW green pointer, on ebay of course. I've messaged the seller, and they swear it IS 10 watts output. Yet even the parts to make such an animal do not appear to exist.

Adjustable-532nm-Powerful-Laser-Pen-Pointer-10000mw-green-high-instantly-burning
An ebay search for "10000mW" finds several of these.
And all this at a greatly reduced Price:US $6.79 - Approximately C $9.18
And the usual FREE economy shipping.

Can anyone tell me what the seller (or their supplier) is thinking? The suggested working time is <1 minute "for safety".
Should this listing be reported as fraudulent? Everything I've read online so far suggests a max of 1000mw, with 100mW being far more likely.

Thanks in advance for any info/help.

The seller is thinking there are plenty of pre-teen to teen (for the most part) that have access to paypal and not only is there almost no chance that the laser will get sent back at a much higher cost than it cost but also ebay dosent allow them over 5mW anyways so they win.

On a really interesting side note, last week I got back about $80 from amazon from pen lasers I had bought through them a long time ago saying that they were way over the allowed output so here's your money back:) Not kidding.

Maybe 10 watts thermal power lol
Optical, maybe with a very poorly calibrated meter? Or one set to the wrong range?

They gave you a refund because the shipped item was TOO powerful?? Time to do some shopping on Amazon! :eg:

Funny how ebay allows the sale of 1.6W Osram blue diodes, but not pointers - even though a few "wicked laser" models are on there also..

After more searching, I found this:

HTPOW 10000mw 532nm Laser 303 Most Powerful Green Laser Flashlight With Security Lock Four Colors
Price:
$199.99 $478.99 58% OFF

Seems a bit more believable, but still... any thoughts on this one? (hipow.com)

Guys this is a necro thread from 2011....

Better a necro containing pertinent information than a new thread. :o

Murdarr - There are no commercially available handheld 10W 532nm lasers. They just don't exist. The highest power handheld laser of any color you can find without having it custom built will be ~2W.

The lasers you have mentioned are just rebranded 303 lasers. You'd be lucky to get ~150mw of green out of them.

Sanwu offer higher than 2W, others that I'm not aware of may also offer higher powers. Jet Lasers maybe?

Yeah, I guess "Commercially available" isn't really what I was trying to say. JL, Sanwu, and Laserglow/CNI all offer handhelds >2000mW. I guess I was thinking more along the lines of "The highest power you can find on eBay."
